A bit of fun this week, a video to show you some fun. 13‘life hacks’ you shouldn't live without
As always, if I promote local I also like to shop local myself. Yes, like the rest of you I do shop at supermarkets; even our shop owners do, and yes I do shop elsewhere, but 99% of the time I look local first and more often than not, I can. You should try it and be you will be surprised, I'm finding what you think you know about where you live and what you actually know are two different things and this has been proven to be on numerous occasions
This time it was new glasses from Moorhouse Opticians. What do you think?
#WOTS(word on the Street)
Lots of local jobs gone up this week, scroll down the Garforth Live Board to see, from local independents business to bigger firms. It’s always great to see local jobs and if local people can get them, even better.
Traders are putting together objections over the next few weeks about development around Garforth, such as Netto and Lidl, they need to be heard, and developers need to listen as well as the influential people in our community who also need to think long term about the impact of these development on our high street and other local businesses in and around Garforth
Rumour - Andy is not selling The Newmarket #hearditfromthehorsesmouth after he laughed out loud
The developers who have planning in place to build opposite the Library where the garage is, must be fairly confident about getting their plans through, as I've heard they have asked the garage to leave, hand in their notice! #watchthispace
Garforth Golf Club requesting an extension to the existing halfway house with sheltered seating area
Still waiting for Genix to get on with their plans to extend... application was approved a while ago now
Former depot on Green Lane has had its application approved, originally for 9 flats that then went down to 8 and now 4 houses! Confused. Either way, new homes coming nearby
The nine parking spaces in Tesco that have been converted into a valeting operation has caused a few annoyed people, especially the ones opposite who own a car washing facility, yes this may a valeting service but they’re still cleaning the cars. But as most of us know, Tesco’s are never bothered about whose noses they put out as long as they get so to want they want to do!
If you're one of the people who always moan about Garforth, use all your negative energy and help make it better or............ MOVE! #justsayin
Until next week.......
My name is Christine Thom, I came to live in Garforth nearly 22 years ago; you may have seen me around ?
