Happy St Patrick's Day![]() What do you do.... actually, If you're a true Irish person, you're not reading this as you're already on the Guinness, have a great day celebrating the good things. As well as St Patricks Day, it’s also World Sleep Day – now this is my kind of day! I could easily be sponsored to do this… now the question is, do I continue to write the blog or go to sleep? Zzzzz #MOG (Moaners Of Garforth) I see people have been complaining on social media, this week, as they do! Love that people can say what they like behind blue light yet if they were asked to stand up on a stage in front a load of strangers would they truly say how they feel? Most of the information or annoyances as and will always be about the negatives living in Garforth; to be fair I don't come across many! I find this very frustrating, where do people think we live? In a gated community in the middle of Johannesburg ? Hey, stuff goes on, some we like, some we don’t but if we keep shouting about some of the rubbish things that happen then seem worse because everybody is shouting and sharing about it STOP AND THINK. Just imagine if more people shouted about the really good things that go on in Garforth and how good the place we live really is! To give you some of the great things we need to shout about MORE We have a fair amount of green space to play (yes, more would be nice) We have 3 fairly new parks We have a skate park We have a healthy high street We have so many volunteering groups that make living in Garforth easier and creating a pleasant place to be, such as; Garforth in Bloom, Garforth Neighbourhood Planning Forum, Garforth Flood Group Garforth & District Lions Club Great local Churches doing great things We have a great police community that keeps us up to date with what’s going on, so we can all be more vigilant and aware of the idiots! And If you don’t fully know what our local businesses are offering, or you have a perception about what you think we don't have, then you’re not following The Main Deal enough : ) Get championing our town and not dissing it; where does negativity get anyone? SAVE PARLINGTON has been prevalent on social media and on Main Street last Saturday. The steering group for this have to be patted on the back for such steely determination and for telling us, the local community all about it and the impact it will have on Garforth should it go ahead. You have up until the 27th March to object Copy and paste the links http://save-parlington.org/sapform/sap-form.html If for any reason the site doesn't load, there is a backup here: http://brianhull.uk/formexamples/sap-form.html CINEMA SHOUT OUT...
