Apologise for last week’s absence from the blog. I think a car crash, a visit to hospital (separate incident) and picking up a courtesy car was all a little too much… Anyway, I’m back for this week, but for this week only until after the half term; I'll be having fun with the #thomboys in good old Whitby. What do you have planned for the half term? Hopefully these links will help you: THINGS TO DO THIS HALF TERM (Copy and Paste the links) http://www.leedsinspired.co.uk/october-half-term-leeds This looks good fun at Temple Newsam House http://www.leedsinspired.co.uk/events/bug-horrors As well as Lotherton Halls Spectacular Halloween Week https://www.familiesonline.co.uk/local/leeds/whats-on/halloween-weekend-at-lotherton Check out my events page on Facebook too as there are few things happening next weekend https://www.facebook.com/pg/themaindeal/events/?ref=page_internal There’s quite a few good things going on at The Library, check it out Also check out our link to this year’s Itinerary when and where Garforth Community Choir will be performing http://www.themaindeal.co.uk/garforth-community-choir.html Vote for the Favourite Firm of the Future - www.businessworksuk.co.uk We say a big congratulations to Business Works this week for being in the finalists Copy and Paste the link to see their fabulous video http://intuit.promo.eprize.com/firmofthefuture2017/ Voting open from 16th – 29th October Help out by voting for our great local businesses here in Garforth Vote for GARFEAST2018 - Tesco Tokens From the 1st November until the 1st January, when shopping at Tesco’s, you will be able to put your blue tokens in our Garforth Feastival box. We have to thank…. Howden's Kitchens this week for kindly donating £250.00 to next year's #Garfeast too, people are really getting behind, the good of Garforth. The more we receive, the more we can achieve There are some conversations and posts that should NOT be put on social media................. Last week, a terrible incident happened in Barclays Bank. A poor elderly man collapsed and died and his wife was injured too as he fell. This is such a sad story and I was horrified to read people second guessing on social media about how many ambulances and police and first responders were outside and guessing what it was, and then people arguing who was right and wrong and then starting rumours as to what it was or wasn’t……………………..REALLY! When there’s an array of emergency services, then no second guessing or a conversation should be had, there’s a terrible incident happened, clearly, does it really need a conversation on a gossip page? … I was baffled! Poor family, does anyone not think of these people FIRST #RANTOVER In November I am delighted to say.... After the half term holidays, we have a new Guest Blogger joining us, a local business owner will be adding to our blog with their thoughts and prospective on Garforth and a few other topics of their choosing. It will be interesting to read things, perhaps from the other side of the counter? Have a happy half term and enjoy your little ones whether you’re a parent or a grandparent, they grow so fast and the holidays are over far too quickly. Getting ready for Halloween - AgeUk were certainly getting their shop in the spirit; but not to every bodies taste as it's now been taken down! I found it rather amusing, it certainly got people looking into their window #halloweenfun Perhaps a #steptoofar for Garforth? Until 3rd November..... have a lovely half term
