Garforth Community Choir
On Wednesday, myself and the lovely Maggie Hargreaves met up with people in the community who are interested in being part of the Garforth Community Choir - we met in the great Working Men's Club as we were looking at this as a possible venue to rehearse. James Jelliman from Arts Live also came and spoke to us about becoming an independent choir through their programme which allows the choir more scope, more use of expertise in the singing field and lots of great things going forward, I had a sinking feeling that the choir would choose this option due to the facilities and for a little less cost, it would have been daft to have turned it down. At this moment; and confirmation will come through, we are looking at Wednesday Evening from 7-9pm at Garforth Academy for rehearsals starting in September, if you want to keep up to date with the choir and you would like to join; be mindful this is a community choir so it doesn't matter if you can or can't sing, it's about having fun and being part of something good in the Garforth.

Nisa looks to be soon opening with having the new fridges now in, hoardings down, posters going up and glass getting a polish, it really does make the start of town look aesthetically better.

It was so sad to hear today that after a long battle with cancer, a remarkable local lady who fought for her life and for her family has sadly passed away, RIP Eva Beaumont. - I know alot of local people were following her twitter and facebook pages and blog.
THIS WILL BE THE LAST Blog for this month due to me having. A holiday, but do look out for my daily office pictures, they will be better than a small window I look out at most days
I'll be back blogging on August 14th
This week I've had 28,600 hits to the website – on our way to 30,000 – I may have to another little dancing video! And now have a very active Facebook site with 838 followers, to get to 1,000 would be wonderful. You can help by telling friends and family to use The Main Deal first, for shopping. – keep it local and support your town.
My name is Christine Thom, I came to live in Garforth 20 years ago; you may have seen me around ?
