OK, who ordered the rain? We’ve had such wonderful weather over the last few weeks, but I hear it’s only going to be a blip and we’ll be back to warmer climates over the Bank Holiday weekend, MAY it continue!
This week has been quite busy. Meeting new potential shop owners (fingers crossed in planning) Feastival Meeting, sharing and updating systems with my new branding (website will be updated soon) and the letter writing for the new compliance with GDPR, now everyone has had one of these from someone! As well as talking to potential new members, oh, and having my roots covered and my nails done; well I do have to look after myself from time to time! Whilst also preparing for the half term with the #thomboys next week - #jugglejuggle
Not a great topic…..
Please be aware - when the nice weather comes along, so do potential Burglars. Shed and garage doors are open more and sometimes we forget to lock them up. We have had a few sheds in the area over the last few weeks that have been broken into. Be more secure and vigilant and if you see anything suspicious, you can go online and reports it to the West Yorkshire Police 101 Live Chat line – https://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101LiveChat
By reporting it, you’re helping, as they can then collect a list of information that has come in if something, somewhere goes wrong and the information you give may be valuable.
On the subject of sun, please also be aware of children playing outside their homes. It has been lovely to see and hear kids playing in their streets in these warm evenings when they're back from school. It’s nice to see kids playing in the sun, in the fresh air and away from technology, let them play safely by driving careful in our neighbourhood

Bad planning by National Rail
Quite a few people annoyed this morning that the new timetable didn't quite work out too well for East Garforth Passengers as the train that was meant to stop, didn't!
It's bad enough for a fair few people that they have taken a train off the timetable, Between 8-00 - 9.00 am and now the new timetable looks like this:
East Garforth to Leeds
8.16 and 8.47
Garforth Station to Leeds
8.12, 8.18, 8.28, 8.39, 8.43, 8.49
Very annoying for East Garforth Passengers, When there would be no possibility for local people to drive to Garforth to catch one of the many trains offered as there are no parking spaces for Local people.
I think National Rail need to understand that many local people use East Garforth Train station just as much as Garforth and most walk to catch the train.
I know these changes have been made nationally, but I wonder locally, anything that can be done about this? Especially when we get 241 news houses built with more people travelling from East Garforth as it will be the nearest station!
The Train strike certainly didn’t help yesterday either, 1 train every hour and then you can just have 2 carriages #sardinestocity
Our local councillors have been referring all complaints to our MP, please do send yours it ‘may’ help bring change!
May you have a fabulous bank holiday weekend and if the forecast is right, it should be a beer in hand, sunhat on and kids in the paddling pool kind of weather
We’ll be back on Friday 8th June
Until then………… Be kind, it's easier
My name is Christine Thom, I came to live in Garforth 20 years ago; you may have seen me around ?
