What a great night Garforth Lights was, lots of things going on, the Christmas Market was really great, even the weather was on side for once. All the stage performers were also fabulous, especially the people dressed in costumes. I thought the parade to the stage was very sweet with many of our local clubs and causes.
Most of the young adults were very well behaved, just one group that stood out, the ones standing outside Bargain Booze passing round a bottle of white wine and smoking; maybe they should have stood on the stage, as being so blatantly under age and drinking actually outside the off license wasn’t risque enough! Come on, I’m 44 but not old enough to forget I was a teenager and drank under age, I can’t even say my parents were sophisticated enough and had me drinking a good class of Port at the dinner table; but I was 16 and drank away from people. Don’t forget, Garforth is so very, very, very town! I think the passing policeman soon got wind of their cheeky behaviour and put a stop to it; I mean, where else are you going to hide a massive bottle of white wine, Echo too…. not a bottle of Lambrini in site!

GFest announces next year’s Festival along with the headline Act, Bulsara and his Queenies – We really do need Sticks and Stones and Luke Flear on that stage too – well they are beginning to get the most well-known bands, locally? Luke played on the stage on Friday and then had another gig in Selby – he’s so popular. Sticks and Stones played a fabulous gig outside Wetherspoons and were really well received by many, especially the landlord. – So maybe a little message to GFest to get these two local bands on the main stage at G fest would be good?! Go on, tap, tap…
