On Sunday and on the 11th November at 11am - remember them
I hope you enjoyed the fireworks last night, whether you were out at a display or watching from the window. There’s one thing about living on a hill, you see them all - I hope you stayed safe.
Kids went back to school this week and now, dare I say it in November? We’re on countdown to Christmas - please look at blog from Friday 9th October as it gives you a huge list of great ideas and links to pages of places to shop for gifts this Christmas – unique and different.

GREAT FOR GARFORTH
Lots of talk in and around Garforth about what’s coming, how big, who it’s going to effect, who’s saying what, who’s backing it, who wants or needs it - I will always share any information I come across and then it’s up to you to have your say and you never know, your input might actually help shape what is coming.
I continually shout about our local businesses, not just shops but the local businesses on our doorstep or next-door to you, please look at them first, they are online too.
I find when talking to community, people have or are just about to give up on the local businesses, and this is down to;
The Main Deal is here to help you find and see it
Now I don’t have a John Lewis Christmas advert up my sleeve, to make a tear fall down your cheek and feel all sentimental (or was that just me?) all I ask is that you think about local first; and not just at Christmas
The reasons above of why not to shop are not justifiable excuses to watch a business go under – Kippax lost the support of its community. THEY WILL BE GONE and it’s not just about losing shops it’s about losing part of our community if they do
Review page went up this week and so far I have had some really lovely feedback. So, please, if you have time, please leave a positive review of what you think of The Main Deal, what benefits do you get out of using it... you can help make it grow
A great follow on Facebook and Twitter this week - have a look at the links if you want to also follow
Look after the businesses if you want a good community
My name is Christine Thom, I came to live in Garforth 20 years ago; you may have seen me around ?
