What a great day to celebrate, all women and how we should lift others up, whether in business or friendship. Until this job I have always been in a predominately male environment, being from and IT background, it was mostly dominated by a heavier male population; but it is changing and we are seeing more women in top jobs in the IT sector, it’s great to see and hear.
I have always wanted to work for myself, I decided long ago I was no good at being managed, by male or female. I’m not one for sitting back and letting things happen or not giving things a go again, because they failed before. I like to try and change things for the better, I’m not good with policies and I like to bend the rules. Hence why The Main Deal works for me in so many ways. However, I have had to prove in many ways, what I’m doing is good, right and helpful and not always to the male business owners either, unfortunately we still have some women in business who also need to change their mindset. Move on, move forward, move up.
It’s not about what you look like, it’s about what you do. I’m not here to look pretty on social media, I’m here to make changes and show everyone in a good light.
As a woman, working many hours, and bringing up a family, married with a hardworking husband who has a very stressful job, life is all about juggling, managing and being super organised.
An average woman's week
Wake up, shower, put your face on, clothes on, get kids organised, make breakfast, pack lunch in bag, sign school books, rush out, rush back, coffee on, work, attend meetings, eat if you can, fit in an exercise class, back for a snack, work, pick up child from school, after school activities, drive as though you’re a taxi, prepare dinner, GIN, do reading and homework, put out dinner, clean away table, make packed lunches, (fit the loo and breath in somewhere) shopping, GIN, put washing in, hang washing up clean, iron, put ironed clothes away, work on new projects, more meetings, several hundred emails to reply to, receiving hundreds of notes from school and dealing with them, GIN, paying for school things, sorting out the finances, bills, keeping on top of budgets, putting the bins out, bringing the bins in, spend time with the people you love, exercise class, dealing with elderly parents, GIN more meetings, report writing, holiday booking, working out what we’re doing this weekend, GIN, organise builders to come round and look at things that need fixing, run round everywhere, fit in a car wash because your children have trashed it, spend time with the people you love……and sleep! Well that's been my week, this week
#womanpower or do we need to Better the balance?
