Sharing the information  – Many people spend time stressing over their diet, and what they should or shouldn’t eat, mainly because today’s world is filled with magazine covers sporting perfectly toned, perfectly tanned models that constantly make us feel inadequate. The various health food fads that seem to come and go every few weeks definitely don’t help, either—as it turns out, a gluten-free diet is not particularly good for anyone who isn’t actually allergic to gluten, juice cleanses deprive us of the protein and fat our bodies need to function properly, and taking too many vitamin supplements just makes our urine expensive when our bodies flush the excess. If you, like many people these days, are beginning to feel disillusioned with all of these things.

I did promise myself this year, I would give more time to myself, by looking after myself more ( I always look after everyone else)  So I went down the line of, Eat less, move more.  I’m definitely moving more!

Just need to concentrate on the eating less.

How Fabulous was Tour De Yorkshire?  I’ve never seen Main Street look so busy; ever!  From the top to the bottom.  People were so engaged, with the cycling, the media vans, chanting, cheering, waving and singing along to the bands that were performing from, Arts Live. Well done all, what a fabulous turn out, and thank you to Mr Sunshine who also made an appearance… he brings out the best in people.

Very important to also hear that our local businesses did really well – now we just need the same effort, sunshine and people for the 14th July please – Garforth Feastival.  Find out who’s coming by clicking on the button

Tickets for LaterLive Evening event at Quirky Ales are £9.50 and available to purchase from Quirky Ales, Cielo, Pride and Produce and Garforth Library.

I hear, 450Degrees Pizza Restaurant will be opening soon – keep following them for details of their launch https://www.facebook.com/450degrees/  In case you didn’t know anything about them, and I’m surprised you haven’t noticed.  Danny, has made an amazing transformation of the old, Vape Lounge opposite Garforth Medical Centre, many of you will remember it as the old Indian restaurant, many moons ago.  It looks so good and I’m dying to taste one of their rustic pizzas cooked in Betty!!  Follow them to keep updated

Planning
I see The Gasgoine has shut its doors for  refurbishing?  It’s not a pub I have been in many times, maybe twice in 20 years!  I hope its refurb will encourage more families to dine, especially with the new, FlyLine opening up within the next couple of months.  It appears the play park will be gone, but who’s to say it won’t be better?    I’m personally not keen on children in a pub if they’re not having something to eat, I think it’s because I spent some of my childhood waiting in a car for my Dad, who was in the pub! Not the best of memories!  #80schild

Everything seems on schedule for autumn opening at Thorpe Park, Retail Park –  It will be nice to have some brands closer as well as the cinema.   I do like Brands, but I LOVE local more so not much will detract me away too much and I hope it won’t detract you too much either.

Planning application still not been signed off yet for the new wine bar proposed on Chapel Close, I have everything crossed this goes ahead… more choice, options and fun for our night time vibe here in Garforth.

Enjoy the Euro vision song contest this Saturday, I love the campness, the fun and the madness!  Can we make it with this years UK’s song?

Until next week ………………………..
