Friday 28th July   – Who stole July?

Ok, who stole July and the weather? Is it always the case that the first week of summer holidays it rains?  As parents,  the things you have to  do on rainy days is endless, I have a whole list.  You have to be weather prepared as a British mum or grandparent.   It’s always fun juggling work and 2 boys who don’t every want to keep still for too long. 

However, as we enter August, the weather looks more favourable #fingercrossed  
 
 
What a fabulous evening had by 30 local people last night at Pride and Produce.  Cheese and Wine night; move over 1970’s, Pride and Produce have just brought this back to the 21st Century. 

We had – 6 different cheeses, 6 different wines, accompanied by local breads, grapes, quince, apple Chutney, local biscuits, herby tomatoes, figs and; a glass of water –   it was very warm last night!

All of the cheeses were brought to us by the wonderful Cryer & Stott, a local Yorkshire and independent company. The Brie was Yorkshire made and the Rhubarb cheese was to die for.  Gary, and Sarah, owners of Pride and Produce were the perfect hosts as was the lovely Sam along with Tim from Premier Cru, in Baildon, Tim was the evenings wine expert.   

Gary told us so much about every cheese paired with each wine and the history of how it all started and where today we can buy it.  It was a very informative and a fabulous sociable evening; I may book on to their next Cheese event, Homage to Fromage in the coming months.  Just a little inside info… as they now have a license, do you know you can pop in on a Friday and Saturday between 4-6 for a quick gin or two; or a beer….  Drink locally

I’m looking forward to tomorrow night’s event with, Three Sisters Supper Club held in Cielo – #DATENIGHT and more eating!   Three Sisters, hold this fabulous event every 3 months, we have been to a few before and they are wonderful, great food, great venue, great company.  The thing I love about it the most, there’s no pressure to leave.  Arrive at 7.30pm and leave when it closes,  as no-one else is taking your seat as you have paid in advance for your ticket – See, we have some fabulous things  locally.  Follow Adam and his team on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – Three Sisters Supper Club so you don’t miss out on the next one

The Gin Shack are hosting events through the rest of this year, one on the 20th August and just today out up their event to celebrate Quirky’s first birthday which will take place on the 27th August
 
East Garforth Primary Academy are hosting a mini breeze event on Monday

Lotherton Hall will be holding some exciting things to do and things to buy on Tuesday, Yorkshire Day, They include The Gin shack and Garforth Library’s Knit and Natter Group selling their fabulous wares.
