The blog is back and so are all the people thinking that covid is over because we’ve opened a few doors! You may have seen on the news of late, how students over the other side of Leeds is ‘partying on grass’ with many friends! Any excuse to get out, out, and do something I get, but when you get to a huge park where there are so many people, do you honestly think, yeah, let’s find a space to relax and leave rubbish? I scratch my head in disbelief at our young generation who are wanting respect and who shout loudly about climate change, then do this. I know not every student is on the grass, enjoying a picnic! A high percentage of people are making the rest of the adults in their 20’s who are good people, look disrespectful, it’s quite sad, that their care is just not there.
I have had a really busy week back, with work and appointments, two of which have been work appointments, this hasn’t happened for a year! It was so nice being able to meet other people and discuss exciting things face to face rather than on the phone or over zoom; as well as enjoying 2 cups of CLO coffee outside in the sun! Please do go and enjoy our local outside areas and help them get back to it, you don’t always have to think the best seats are at Spoons!
WORD ON THE STREET
Jessica Fletcher got it wrong – ok, Jessica didn’t but I did, my spying is rubbish. I was trying to do some investigative work on who and what was going to be taking over Lasercharge’s old premises, what restaurant is it going to become. So it turns out, it’s nothing to do with Akbar’s which was my initial thought! I’m hearing, and this is only on the grapevine that the new restaurant will be an ice cream parlor in the day and a sort of burger bar in the evening! This has not been confirmed, but it’s a bit of information we know at this time to probably be true, so I guess we will just have to wait and see. I’m hoping, as the place is huge, it adds more than just food, something to do, you know like a proper diner-type. I think teens and families will really like it.
There are other rumours that Pride and Produce old premises are also moving towards being another restaurant with lots of speculation about what, the last I heard was a gourmet burger place, but this does not mean to say it’s definitely happening, so again, I will keep my ear to the ground and wait for confirmation
Planning – there are so many applications in at the minute for side extensions, I’ve never seen so many, and I’m putting this down to study’s and home offices being built, as more and more people will remain working from home. We are unable to extend any more onto our house, so we have Hipco creating a garden studio. As the world changes so is how we are living, I hope this means we will have a better work life balance going forward.
