Another Bank holiday and another week off school for the kids. Some kids have again, had to take more time off due to the need to isolate from school’s Covid cases! I hope the half-term week cleans the slate a little in order they can get back to it and reduce cases. We need to keep on top of lateral flow tests as it does help.

Finding local is very handy
It’s no secret that I love local businesses, but from time to time, I also like to give myself a challenge. What can I find that I need as local as possible. With our garden upgrade and office pod being built, it was really easy to find the right people for the right job; it’s handy being in the know, and because I share the knowledge as well as adding these great businesses to our website, you too can be in the know. There have been many businesses used by you through us, and it’s great to see the people we recommend and vet, come good. You use them time and time again as well as recommend them to your own friends and family. I am now on with a new challenge, looking for businesses to work on my Mother-in-Law’s new home; she’s moving 5 doors up from us, from North Wales; you read it right 5 doors away! I’m not sure if I’m happy or feel sick about it, to be honest, it will be great to be able to look after her in golden years; as long as she keeps the nonsense away from any of my many tabs I have open in the day! You see, she’s quite the opposite to me, I’m always full of optimism and hope, she’s quite negative with a lack of enthusiasm for anything being possibly good and fun, you know just in case something goes wrong; not that it ever does! She’s lovely, but worries about things I haven’t even thought about. She has lots of STUFF to sort through and gets upset or angry when I say, ‘no thanks, I have 100 plates already.’ Anyway, back to my, finding local very handy, in order she can move into her new home comfortably, I have used our local tradespeople for quotes, James from J-Mac Joinery (he’s a very talented joiner) Pete a local DIY expert, Thornton Jones as her Solicitors, and we will also be looking to use a local electrician, as well as David from DJR Heating and Plumbing to check out all her gas works (not a euphemism) before she moves in. I cannot wait to show her how easy living here will be, and how it will improve her quality of life….. long days are coming!
