ME – I’m 51 today… and honestly, what happened to that last 12 months? I was really enjoying being 50!
I’ve been proud to tell people how OLDer I am, always older, never old.
It’s become my mantra, because it stops those tired old perceptions that once women hit 50, we’re invisible, clueless or in need of ‘advice’.
So let’s clear a few things up:
1️⃣ We don’t need someone to do things for us; we’ll figure it out.
2️⃣ If we do need help, we’ll find the right help.
3️⃣ We don’t need tech advice; our generation built the tech you’re using.
4️⃣ We don’t need to be told what we should wear; we’ll wear whatever we damn well want.
5️⃣ If your opinion doesn’t fit today’s world because your mind’s still stuck in the 50s, we’re not afraid to tell you.
6️⃣ We’re actually the easiest age group to get on with, no fluff, no drama, just helpful all the way, because we know a lot!
Older, never old. And absolutely not invisible. 💪✨
Back to school… and in come the emails.
We’ve only been back five minutes and I’ve already had a lost property one.
They’re informative, yes. Necessary, sure. But I hate them, because every single one just means another thing on my to-do list.
Does anyone else’s other half actually deal with school emails, fairs, and projects? and events?
Or is it just the Mums juggling it all… asking for a friend. 😅📩

Will someone please sort it out!
I’ve contacted the council several times regarding the ongoing and worsening traffic problems in Garforth, particularly on Fairburn Drive/Green Lane, Church Lane, and Ninelands Road.
In my correspondence to the Council, I proposed the idea of introducing intermittent yellow lines (you’ve read my idea a few times before); but I’m saying it again, just in case the idea is used and someone else takes the credit!
This would be a cost-effective, targeted measure to reduce blockages, bottlenecks, and the daily build-up of traffic in these key areas.
To date, I’ve not received a clear explanation as to why this proposal is not being considered (IT’S A GREAT IDEA) or whether it has even been reviewed.
We’re all impacted by it, residents, businesses, and schools, by this congestion, and we need practical, affordable solutions. If intermittent yellow lines are not considered appropriate, I would appreciate knowing what alternatives are being explored!!
Our town is growing and our roads are not – LCC can’t afford to widen them, nor is there room, but we could easily Manage them!
