I can’t believe on Sunday we will be in July!  As much as the weather is shouting summer, this year is going far too quickly, and now we’re on countdown to the Feastival

Check out the Facebook page (@Garfeast)  and keep up to date with all that’s going on and coming along on the day, we just have to pray we can hold onto this sunshine as it would make for a fantastic day

Who is just loving the sun?  After what was a rubbish winter, it is so nice to wake up knowing the sun is going to be up, smiling and making me smile for the rest of the day.  This is definitely one benefit from working from home

Prom Night

It’s Prom night in Garforth tonight, I’m looking forward to seeing our local young adults, being shared on social Media by friends and family with their posh frocks (scouse term) and the lads all looking smart with their big hair!  Have fun guys you deserve it after all your hard work;  I know our Beauty Salons have been busy all day

New Member – we welcome Mark Millar from Marquis Insurance Brokers this week, Garforth born and bred and works a lot out of Cielo Coffee shop, well you may as well work, and get great coffee which is also handy if you need to pop by and see him – find him here on our page.

Planning

I popped into the Redrow home Marketing office this week, more for a nosy as to see where the land lies and where exits onto Ninelands Road will be – It’s worth going in to grab a big map.  There are 2 Public Open Space areas, and it will be interesting to see what they will put there, park, playground or just a grassed area?  It’s also interesting to see on the map, the Attenuation Facility  – which is the process of water retention on site and slowly releasing it in a controlled discharge to a surface water or combined drain or watercourse. The amount of discharge will vary depending whether it is a brown or greenfield site. For brownfield sites the developer must determine the likely run off and agree an acceptable discharge with the environment agency or water authority. For greenfield sites the environment agency normally limits discharge to 5 l/s per hectare (10,000m2) which only represents about 2-3% of run off. –  I hope this means it will allivate any more flooding when we get Bad weather and is plunges onto Ninelands Lane?

Nice to read in planning that Moorfield House Surgery on Wakefield Road have been granted permission to alter the roof height to a form dormer windows to front and rear, maybe more room in the surgery perhaps?

News will soon be released from Garforth Dental Surgery, which is above Reed Rains, looking forward to hearing about it very soon –
Stay safe in the sun and remember, you can get some great deals on Sun creams from our local pharmacy’s

Until Next week
