Hello everybody. I hope you’ve had a good week, all back to it now the children are back in school?
I have been very busy this week, seeing lots of members and carrying out reviews giving hints and tips and advice about social media which is helping quite a few of our local businesses out; proven. If you put the work in to being active and consistent the rewards can be just great.
This week we will be welcoming the fabulous Dumouchel to our website, you will soon be able to see more of what they do, sell, make, eat….oh no, that’s just me! Did you know that Dumouchel also supply to other local businesses, like Picturehouse Kitchen and Good Morning for example? They’re fabulous for everything yummy, Saturday morning customers are sometimes out the door because people are queuing for their scrummy breakfast breads and Danish’s.
Thierry and the team are a great asset to have on our doorstep; not many local towns have a Boulangerie, chocolatier and a cookery school
The Arts Festival has now confirmed they’re 2 weeks itinerary for July including, Playground Party time and I’m posting every bit of information as it comes in.
I had a great meeting with one of the organisers this morning, James Jelliman, organising events and art on the Street, this could be a great thing that happens on the 2 week lead up to The Playgroup Party as well as creating a path of fun on the day #watchthisspace
Word on the Street #rumours
So, we’ve been in the news this week, with the current, Prime Minister, David Cameron gracing our Streets? And then Sam Cameron over in Kippax on Wednesday and yesterday Alec Shelbrooke was out filming near The GreenGrocers…. They’re certainly pulling out all the stops for conservative votes in a Labour constituency
It’s looking like a definite for Nicer to arrive in the old council offices opposite the library with taking over street number 1-5 , so it should be fairly sizeable shop, which will hopefully help the shops on that row get some more footfall.
Some changes to The Main Street Cafe at the top of the Street, extending and changing of building and extended opening hours – approved by planning, a great cafe that can hopefully do more.
Also on planning news, The Aagrah are also looking to extend again – Single storey extension to existing A3 restaurant, provision of additional car parking and remodelling of external areas – still pending consideration
No more news on this rumour from last week though!
Rumours are, the old Co-op Travel is set to be another, beautician! – waiting on confirmation on this one. We really don’t need any more in the already saturated market; it really wouldn’t be fair on the existing beauticians either.
This week we have hit 13,399 – it’s growing each week; you can help by telling friends and family to use The Main Deal first, for shopping. – keep it local and support your town.
