After a great Gala meeting lots of people and introducing myself, the face behind The Main Deal it was nice to get some great feedback and engaging conversation with people as well as saying hello to people I have got to meet online, but not actually meet face to face. Hello Garforth and to the lovely people that live with us. Thank you to the lovely ladies, Louisa and Nicola from Globe not for Profit for helping out and due to their wonderful chocolate tombola and the kind prizes donated by our Traders, they raised £116.00. Every little helps to go to this wonderful charity
This week I’ve had a fair few enquiries of late, looking forward to adding

Garforth Physio with Pilates classes in The Welfare Hall
Freshly Made in Garforth, sandwich shop on Aberford road, recently taken over by new owners
Garforth Brass and Garforth Jubilee Brass Band
On Wednesday I attended a great meeting all about the DIGITAL HIGH STREET and the plans that may happen in our town in the future. Google are working with the government’s initiative to back towns becoming a digital high street with a great hub and support… as well as hearing there are future plans to make Leeds City towns a Wi-Fi zone, Garforth included, So of course, I’m pushing for this to be sooner.
Have a look at the The Great British High Street’s plans

It was great to see the Garforth Arts Festival on Made in Leeds Sky 117, use to catch up to see what was said, it’s always good to get our little town on the map and the TV
You can still purchase all tickets at Garforth Library, don’t forget you get a discount if you’re a local resident, you’d pay more if you went out with your family for the day. Check it all out here

There appears to be a lot of work needed in Libbys, the Asbestos services have been there a lot this week. There also doesn’t appear to be much objections about the parking issue, I thought there would have been a lot more, unfortunately it’s too late is you wanted to make a comment, that chance went at the end of June, and for all of you wondering when it’s all going to fully start, then sorry, nobody quite knows yet, but I can bet as soon as they have the full green light, it will be a matter of weeks not months and the new Mr Wether and Mr Spoons will be opening its doors.
If you want to hold conversations with people or find out about things locally, join Street Life, it’s quite good. You can talk to local people and find out about things you may not know. It’s there to encourage people to make connections in their community.
This week we’ve had 25,280 hits to the website, and now have a very active Facebook site with 823 followers, to get to 1,000 would be wonderful. You can help by telling friends and family to use The Main Deal first, for shopping. – keep it local and support your town.
