Local people certainly do have an opinion about the massive thing we do have in our town once a year, “Music, loudness, cost, time, fun, fabulous, wonderful, local family engagement, and school engagement”. We’re a small town of approximately 16,000 people and this well thought out, lots of hard work goes into it, event happens once a year. For a family of 4 it costs £45, which is only £11.25 each. Garforth Hour was so very active on Tuesday and new businesses joined in too and found what great networking can do for them and the benefits you gain from being on twitter for one hour, the interaction with other businesses is really fun too.

Word on the Street
Sad to see that Sam from Adore will be closing her doors on 24th July, It’s one of the great and unique shops we have on Main Street and it does play a big part in getting you, the community to the top of Main Street, but watch this space, it’s not all doom and gloom.

There must have been a fair few things to shift. I also noticed they were swilling out floors too. I suppose it’s good that work has started, but It’s still showing Pending Consideration in planning.

So, the public Loos have gone to create 4 more parking spaces, personally I think we’re going to get a lot more use out of 4 spaces than 2 toilets that were not able to be looked after and were very rarely used. It’s a shame that after this week’s post showing the demolition, a few people thought it was inconvenient to pull down the conveniences, and it would now have an impact on people shopping on Main Street. Sad to think that this would be another excuse not to use local shops! There are other conveniences about like our local library and coffee shops and pubs if you need to use them if the need arises – it means you can spend more than one penny and support a local business too!
I have two small children and never had the need to use the public loos on Barleyhill, It’s that old saying, use them or lose them! They clearly weren’t used.
Hunters have been taken over by Claire Errington who has bought the franchise Estate Agents, Looking forward to meeting up with her soon to discuss promoting them.
Tesco have plans in consideration to change use of 9 Parking spaces to a hand card wash and Valeting operation including installation of an office and erection of a canopy! As well as some None illumined signs; 19 of them!
