So this week has been back to work week for most…… where did Christmas go?!…………..
Lots of things gone on over Christmas, so sad to hear of so many places flooded, and so close to home in Tadcaster. There are a few local people doing something to help
Noel from Garforth Beds is looking into donating good condition second hand beds
Vision Office are donating 10% of everything sold in their office warehouse, they’re on Parkinson’s Approach, they sell new and secondhand furniture to businesses and the public, go and have a look http://www.visionoffice.biz/
Garforth Lions are also donating
Nicky Busby of @Yorkshireimages a great local lady who does many things in and around Yorkshire has set up a crowdfunding appeal to raise £5000, my £20 has been donated, please if you can, donate and help these poor people who have had no joy in their life over the Christmas holidays – it’s up to £520 as of this morning – 11% of the way there

This week we welcome new members,
Meridian Health Care (opens in February)
DMC Tiling Plastering – coming end of January
Nisa local – coming on next week
#WOTS (word on the street)
A new Deli will soon be on Main Street, called 1868 Pride and Produce, Sarah who will run the business will be receiving keys very soon and looking to fit and open the shop at end of February beginning of March. I’m looking forward to shouting about them and seeing what they’re going to offer. It will be a sit in and takeaway affair, I think a great asset to Main Street, something independent and unique and another empty shop being filled.
The e turn starts, if you shop local more will come!
All our businesses have some great January deals and sales on, half price items and don’t forget all the other local businesses on our doorstep too
WORKS BEING CARRIED OUT by Northern Electrical – 18th January
You may have seen the big yellow sign up near Dumouchel informing you of this
Works will take approximately 6 weeks as they lay new cabling from one end of Ninelands road to ‘The Lines’ so as diversions will probably be put in place, just be mindful of school children when you cut through the estate
Through some doors today – Put it in your diary and find out what’s going on Friday 15th January from 2pm – 6pm
I see the flats above our shops are all up for sale, all 8 apartments – SLP college selling?? _ if You have a spare £825k!
Barclays Bank Building is also up for sale; Barclays are renting for at least another few years yet, so let’s hope whoever buys it, and keeps the bank here.
Until next Week
Be the Garforth you want it to be, keep shopping local
