I hope when you put on sunscreen, you smile as you bought it much cheaper at Ladycares!
I hope you liked last week’s Guest Blog? Phil Barrett is a great local guy with great enthusiasm for the shop local brand and about the place he lives. Some great comments came in.
I am hoping to run a Guest Blog every couple of weeks, so if you want to be one of our blog writers and have your say on the place we live, then please do so and send details to me at Christine@themaindeal.co.uk

Good Luck tomorrow to Garforth Community Youth Choir who will be singing their first performance this at the Welfare Hall for all parents and family. I hear they have learnt some great songs over the last month or so and could chitty chitty bang their way out of the welfare hall with all their lovely singing.
The Youth Choir is completely separate entity from the Garforth Community Choir, it has been taken under by Maggie Hargreaves and Kieran, their choir leader who has worked with young choirs in the past. – check out their poster of information – let’s get Garforth singing
However if you’re still interested in joining the adult, Garforth Community Choir – here’s the video to give you an insight of how much fun they have and what type of things they sing #allsorts – and this not even the full choir!

Changing perceptions is always a hard thing to do, however, I do like a challenge! This week I found myself on threads of conversations on other social media sites; not something I do often as sometimes it can be people hiding behind tablets and saying whatever they like, generally about what we don’t have and how more variety on Garforth would be better and what we need and what we don’t need and as usual I find myself, doing my job; changing those perceptions and giving them facts… It’s great to have an opinion and it’s great to want something, however ……….
Shop local with the things that are here now and more of what you want want will come, how about finding a business to fill in one or two of the very few empty shops we do have! #justathought
Be the change you want it to be by being proactive not whining
Don’t forget about Garforth Golf Range, no membership needed, just pay for a basket of balls and whack a few of them out to the beautiful surroundings then stop in their cafe for snacks too – find the young golfer in your child
Sweetshakes is always fun on holidays, always a great atmosphere along with some great milkshakes and one of favourites too – keep following their social media pages for offers
Planning
Genix’ new development should be open soon, they have been busy, it was due to open at the end of this month, but looks to me there is stil a fair bit to do yet – hard at it
Nothing moving on planning as yet, with regards to Lidl etc
An no news on Joan’s old shop yet either – Landlords won’t even send me a hint!
Have fun all the young adults at PROM NIGHT tonight – make some memories
Until Next time……………………
