Anyway today is SCUD Day stands for Savor the Comic, Unplug the Drama Day, and encourages those of us whose lives might have a touch too much drama to step back, relax, and enjoy the funnier side of life. Relaxation and humour are good for your physical and mental well being, so turn the drama down a notch and enjoy a good laugh instead.
What do you think to the new look of the website? When it was updated in January, for some reason, the Search functionality disappeared, so we’ve brought it back, which now makes it even easier to search the vast amount of information that has been uploaded to the site over the past 19 months – put anything in, I even searched, Cheese the other day and it came up with a place you can buy it! Who came to the Garforth Arts Festival, Main Street event last Saturday? Despite the morning weather, it went really well. The bands that Richard Sharp had organised were brilliant; haven’t we got some fantastic local talent? Next year we want to go bigger – please comment and let us have your thoughts
After a long day of helping out at the festival; which included straddling a large line of balloons at 8.30 in the morning! It was time for some rest and back to Cielo for the, Three Sisters Supper Club, pop up restaurant. On arrival you’re shown to your seat, as there were only two of us it means you can sit with some you may know and some you may not, but it’s great. After ordering some beers and a bottle of wine, appetisers soon followed, this time we had a haggis sort of tapenade with crackers and a warm tomato salsa, I could have eaten it all for myself; but my mother taught me it was good to share.
Adam and Simon; aka Fish are the 2 very talented people who put some much talent and time into creating this fabulous pop up restaurant. Next course Pan fried spiced potato cakes served with a tomato, chickpea and coriander concasse; luckily I didn’t have to share this one, such a great combination of ingredients, truly yummy. I think everyone on our table had the next course which was slow cooked lamb shank, braised in a spiced tomato and chorizo sauce, served with a sweet potato mash and buttery cabbage ; I wasn’t sure I could carry on as my belly was full, the bottle of wine was empty and the next bottle was half full! Oh, but then my orange and almond cake served with whipped double cream; one of Adam’s own recipe’s I believe, came out……………I was well and truly done for, satisfied, full to the brim, #nowaiferthinham room left.
If you haven’t experienced one of their supper clubs, you really must look out for their next one, scheduled for September, keep following their Facebook page for the release date, there are only about 25 covers, so keep a look out – when you have reserved your place, you will receive a menu from Three Sisters SC giving you details about what choices you have, the menu from last week is up for you to get an idea. #gofollow

A couple of things on over the weekend
Pease of Garforth have their BBQ demonstration event tomorrow from 10am – 4pm with cooks from Calorgas and more importantly, meat from Firths Butchers, there will be tasters on offer, demo’s of BBQ’s and special offers on some models including face painting, balloon modelling and magic by Michael the Magician and some special clearance lines on the day too… so I hear

Launch Parties
Over the next coming month there will be a couple of launch parties, so watch this space. One will be from CA Hair Design as Caroline moves her great hairdressing business to the building with Freshly Made on Aberford Road, a great location with free parking outside and she has lots of great plans too #crossmarketing
I have a meeting with Joanne from The Station House Cafe tomorrow, not long now until opening; I’m sure they’re running on Duracell batteries! I’m meeting to discuss their little launch evening
Lots of people have been asking me about this year’s Crickets Camps during the school holidays, both here in Garforth and Kippax. One of my contacts spoke to Tony Bowry this morning, one of the organisers and he just has a few issues to sort out before he can release the booking information, I will keep you posted when I know.
PLANNING
I see pictures are up of the development on Green Lane next to East Garforth Train station, prices from £299,000 for a 4 bedroom house – what I want to know is where is the garden going to go? #motmuchroom
Strikes garden Centre has plans in at the minute, not 100% sure why they’re at the top of planning applications now as they have built most of it, unless more requests have gone in!
Miami development (Lidl etc) has planning in for 8 illuminated signs – it could be bright
