I am so looking forward to the Olympics, we did so well in London in 2012 and I always believe we should watch and celebrate the good things that happen in our world, people of all nationalities coming together, working hard to achieve something great in their lives, even more so if you’re a Para-Olympian   – how many medals can we get this year?

Healthy Minds are now on our website; check out Maureen’s page a great local company for healthy minds http://www.themaindeal.co.uk/keep-me-fit–healthy.html

It’s been a hectic week at TMD Towers HQ this week, juggling work and kids off is always tricky, but then adding in-laws looking for houses in the area to the mix is fun!  My in law’s are moving from North Wales to be closer to us, trying to find a property in Garforth is proving difficult – what’s with the prices?    I know we have great schools and we are a good commuter link, but when shed like homes are up for £200,000 you’ve still got question it.  Now looking further afield, but not too far, we we still want them to #shoplocal when they finally move over

Have you been in to The Station House yet?  Their first week of opening?  Great coffee and great food on offer, keep following all their social media pages to see what’s on each day

Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – The Station House Cafe

I have loved seeing all the fabulous posts from Pride and Produce this week  – giving their neighbours on Main Street a taste of some of the goodies on their new menu – lucky businesses, and there’s more to come next week – #WHOWILLBENEXT

#WOTS

CA Hair Design also opened this week, and Caroline has her launch event tomorrow evening from 6pm,  New and regular clients welcome  – pop in and have a look at her new salon #dreamsdohappen

Don’t forget to pop along to St Gemma’s  tomorrow on Main Street for their fun day, with our local Garforth community choir performing from 1.00pm

BE POSITIVE …….

As mentioned last week, we only have 5 charity shops, yes, 5 not a whole street of charity shops

Yes we have a fair few beauticians, hairdressers and barbers, but they’re all surviving and they bring money and footfall to our town and they give you choice – look at the positives.  if you think there’s nothing else, then you really aren’t looking properly.

From a street life comment, I believe there is a notice up on the railings outside the old liberal club Re: Licensing request for Wetherspoons  – Nothing in planning but this is what it says on their website RE Jobs

We recruit for our new pubs six to eight weeks before they are due to open.

It may be worth keep a looking out on their page, as we don’t yet know when they will start on the refurb.

I hope there was some of you who saw the local advertising for catering/kitchen jobs up at the new Strikes Garden Centre which were held on Monday  – Good luck if you were successful

Enjoy the Olympics opening ceremony, which  actually starts at 11.35pm tonight – might need a glass or two to stay awake

We are lucky where we live, Garforth, enjoy it

Until next week………….
