Friday 22nd June  – #Takeyourdogtoworkday

Did you take your dog to work today?  This is Ian, this as close to us owning a dog in the Thom household as it’s going to get.  Ian is lovely, cuddly and doesn’t need much attention.  He’s very easy, if a little cheeky!

So how as your week been, are you looking forward to the weather ahead?  Just look at this forecast

This week, has been one for running, running everywhere doing lots of things which has inlcuded meeting potential new members, Mark Miller from Marquis Insurance Brokers, and soon we will also have J Mac Joinery on board when he has all his social media up and running with his new company name.

I’ve had a great interview meeting with James from Rowland Burkitt our local Chartered Surveyors on Main Street as James is putting together is dissertation as part of his Degree and is writing about national multiple retailer, affected retail rental values using the case study of Main Street, Garforth.  So I was there on hand answering all his questions with a few points of my own which will be in his dissertation, he told me I should write a book.  Now there’s an idea,  The Garforth Guru !

I have been to the library today for their, Big Get Together event, which was really great… there was cake and lots of it! I had an emoji poo cake…  there were many others, but it sort of stuck out, and I had to have the first one!  The event was a mix of library staff and community and people from other local groups as well as mums and babes.  I hope they do another one, it was great to chat to other local people.  I have a meeting with Sascha from the Library next week, we’re going to talk about my next project, a fix and repair cafe!  I’ll fill you in next week.

In between work and eating cake, I have been trying to get fitter, So I have managed, Spinning, Box Fit, Zumba, Pilates and tomorrow I will be trying clubbercise.    Fingers crossed, I will be running up and down Garforth soon!

• Sunday  – our fabulous, annual Garforth and District Lions GALA on Glebelands, FREE entry but donations all welcome 
• Sunday Is there some footy  match on, on Sunday?  Try The Podger and other local pubs to watch it, England v Panama from 1.00pm
• Friday 29th June –  Pride and Produce will be holding their first Summer Social Event from 5.00pm , With Beers Burgers and Beats, no tickets, just turn up 

Whilst you enjoy the week’s sun, remember the sun cream and the shade from time to time, and don’t forget to #shoplocal for all your BBQ needs including the BBQ itself which you can get from Pease as well as the gas bottles.

As well as my new logo, I’ve also designed a little Emoji, I must say my skin complexion, luscious hair and lack of wrinkles is great – you’ll be seeing a lot more of my emoji through the weeks and new posters will be coming soon, throughout Garforth as there are still lots of people to hear about what The Main Deal is all about
