News has been released this week about Thorpe Park’s proposed new Railway Station and it’s lead to be believe that the new station WILL NOT have any impact or closure of our current stations such as, Micklefield, East Garforth and Garforth – which is good news; we just need more carriages and better timetables!

Katherine from Sling Swing and Beanie Boppers organised a, ‘ All things Baby’ event whilst also celebrating her first year in business.
It was a great event and a good turnout with, baby stalls and other baby companies running workshops – I would like to see this happen again in Garforth, as I remember when I had my #thomboys we had to travel over to north Leeds to attend any baby classes, so it’s great to see what’s now available locally.
Non of our local businesses are rich, fact. Running your own business is one of the hardest challenges you can do, but equally business owners have to also love it otherwise we wouldn’t have anything independent.
It’s also about local businesses coming together to support each other as a collective, and if businesses talk to community then you get more of what you need and therefore you shop more, first.
Support where we live, use, buy, go, spend locally, first as you’re making a real difference.

Good Morning Mark,
Many thanks for your recent emails. Protecting the comfort of the community during development is very important to Redrow, and I detail below the measures that we are taking regarding dust. I would be very grateful if you could forward this response to your contacts.
We currently have 3 bowsers on site which are dampening down dusty areas as much as possible. It is not always easy for residents to see the bowsers in use from outside the site, however, please be assured they are being used as much as possible whenever workers are on site. Additionally, road sweepers with water jets are in use on a daily basis. Our site team have to get the balance right between dampening down areas to reduce dust, and creating a skid risk by over-watering and creating mud.
Given the prolonged spell of dry weather, we have reviewed our dust strategy and will be installing dust screening which will be located to protect the vulnerable areas in the vicinity of our site. We will continue to review our dust strategy, and we are confident that these measures will improve the situation for the community.
As mentioned in an earlier email, we are very grateful for your cooperation regarding this matter, and I’d appreciate if you could continue to contact me direct with any issues.

I’m only kidding I’m sure we’ll get through to another round. I hope so, as it’s great for local businesses.
