Not great to hear on Windy Wednesday, a tree fell, and damaged a few cars in Barley Hill Road Car park. Let’s hope they are able to claim for any damage that has been caused.
A busy week in meetings this week
It was good to have a chat with Mark from The Podger, one of our great long standing pubs with long serving Landlords, Mark and Jackie. Mark has mentioned about some great monthly event nights coming, which will take most people’s boxes, depending what type of tunes you like listening too – exciting local events.
A fun meeting with Martin from Martin Shaw Fitness one of our local Personal Training teams. Martin had attended a social marketing course but was still insure about a few things, so a trip down the road with a good cup of coffee and a chat on how best to use it and a bit more understanding.
I had a great meeting with our local south Leeds team and local Garforth Library team this week in relation to the Repair Café we are trying to get off the drawing board and make it happen this year. As mentioned a few blogs back WE NEED YOU. We are wanting skilled people who can help on the odd Saturday throughout the year as we pick one Saturday a month with different themed items to fix, such as clothes, small electrical items, computers.

- Sunday 23rd – 9.30am Welfare Hall – Garforth in Bloom Bulb Planting
- This is for you to help as a volunteer on Sunday, bulb planting and afterwards you get to head on back for a Bacon Sarnie and a cuppa. If you have trowel or spade please take along with you, upon arrival you will receive your designated area – We have done it and it’s very satisfying when you see all the lovely flowers come up in spring.
- Monday 24th Carte E Café, 9.30-11.00am at The Station Café with Nic Baker from Independent Stampin’ Up
- Please join me for one of my new sessions at The Station House. Drop in and make a handmade Carta (card) and have a hot bere (drink) either as you craft or before / after – it’s your choice! This is a leisurely and social session where you can drop in anytime between 9.30 and 11 am to make your carta. All materials to complete your carta along with any guidance / support will be provided. Hot drinks can be ordered from the cafe. It will take around half an hour to complete your carta so please allow enough time. Why not bring a friend and craft as you chat? The cost of this session is £5, if ordering your drink before you make your carta please let the staff know you are here for the carta and bere session; I will collect any monies and settle up with the Cafe once the session is over

Well that’s me signing off for the weekend as I make my way over to Ribchester on my annual, Mumcation. As we get older, appreciating that we are all still here, healthy and well, it’s this, we should be thankful for.
