After a lovely meeting with one of our new members, Thornton Jones Solicitors, and after much discussion, their partner, Clare pointed out how we have so many women in business in Garforth. When we spoke about the local ladies we knew between us we were amazed how many women make a difference in our community, from the WI, accountants, retail, restaurants and cafes, local pub land-ladies, dance classes, baby activities and fitness classes, solicitors, venue decors, a bar, a dentist, clinics, beauticians and so much more, all these businesses are run by women. #garforthproud
Talking of great women, it leads me nicely onto Mother’s Day, which is this Sunday. If you have left it all very last minute, you still have time to pop in into our lovely local shops; a happy mum and wife, is a happy life! Chocolates galore at Dumouchel, Flowers from, Flowers by Chloe at The Greengrocers, as well as some lovely little pots and baskets of colour. Neil’s Fruit and Veg and The Flower House also have some lovely arrangements. There are also lots of vouchers to buy from our local beauty salons, look at Bella Rose and Chocolate Beauty Spa for their deals, they’ve been posting a few this week – give the lovely lady in your life a nice day, as some MAN decided to change the clocks, so we lose an hour in bed on Mothering Sunday!

Planning
I hear on the Grapevine that, Angels Barbers are also taking the old Bathroom shop premises on as another Barbers! Maybe they will do other bits and bobs…. Well not your bits and bobs, but perhaps your beards. Watch this space I guess.
I see the Campsite application is in for land off Cliff Top Park Selby Road (if they don’t want bricks and mortar they want canvas). It’s a sizeable site
I know interest is in with the old premises of Reeds Rains, and my fingers and toes are crossed for the right person to get in and if they do, I might just throw a little office party of my own
You may have noticed that the old Lloyd’s Chemist shop; now Cohen’s chemist has been split in two! I’m searching
to see if any, ‘change of use’ is happening…. nothing jumping up yet.
The sun is set to shine over the school holidays and carry on until June; so they say. I love seeing and hearing the kids out playing, so please be mindful when driving back to your road, drive slowly, kids might be outside having fun.
I hope you have a great break, with the addition of the Good Friday, I will be back blogging on Friday 26th April…. And then we’ll be counting to May! Ahh
Until then…………. enjoy the sun if it stays out.
