Friday 17th May – World Baking Day

What I wouldn’t give for some bread or cake right now!  I have been ‘doing’ a Keto for the past 8 weeks, which means very low carbs, and no sugar…….I’ve not had Dumouchel bread for all this time, it’s starting to make me twitch!  I’m wondering whether I can give Thierry a challenge and get him to make some low carb bread… or just make it myself!    I am please with the benefits it has given me have; even if my other half is ahead of me by miles….  taking each day and exercising when I can, is all helping.  I don’t like the word diet, I like changing habits.  It’s all going in the right direction… my wrists look amazing!

I’ve had some great meetings this week.  I received my holiday tickets from the lovely Natalie, our local travel counsellor.  I had an introductory meeting with one of our local accountant, Cutler & Co.   I also went to a lovely little independent ladies clothes shop in Swillington, called Style Attic, a lovely little boutique, something different, definitely worth a visit. It’s just on the parade of shops where the launderette has been for many years.  I also had a lovely meeting with another new independent coming to Garforth, let’s get it all through planning first and then we can  shout   #charcuterie  #watchthisspace

• Tuesday 21st – 9.30am – 11.30am  – Carta E Café at Station House Café with Nic Baker of Independent Stampin’ Up – Theses sessions at the very lovely Station House are becoming increasingly more popular .You can drop in and make a handmade Carta (card) and have a hot or cold bere (drink) either as you craft or before / after – it’s your choice!  This is a leisurely and social session where you can drop in any time between 9.30 and 11 am to make your card/s. All materials to complete your card/s along with any guidance / support will be provided. Hot drinks can be ordered from the cafe. It will take around half an hour to complete your card so please allow enough time. Why not bring a friend and craft as you chat?

Planning
 
So Emsley’s old premises, next to the Good Food store, will be getting a traditional sweet shop!  I hope it works well in this little spot.  Something new and different too.  I’m hoping it has an old fashioned feel, with bags and quarters… something traditional will go a long way.
 
Reed Rains old premises is also underway for change, as it puts up the ‘under offer’ sign this week, as the price tag for it’s yearly rent is high, I’m just hoping it’s not a franchise or a chain; unless something different, we don’t have already!
