Yesterday was World Mental Health Day
It is only as we all acknowledge more about our health and minds, does it give us time to think more about ourselves, and how much we all need to focus on us and not always everyone else. I’m a Mother and Wife first, then a business owner second, which doesn’t always leave time for me, and as many mothers will agree, when we do give ourselves time, we feel guilty! I think we need to revaluate ourselves and take more care, in order we can do the other things we need to do first, better!
If people were kinder
if people smiled at others
if people took more time to talk
if people looked after people
if we sat down and gave more time to one another
if we’re just kinder
We would have a happier society, teach our children it’s not ok to be horrible to others, it starts from the bottom and works it’s way up to be a healthier adult

Exciting news!
When our new updated website is up and running on WordPress, (my fingers are tired from inputting data) we will also have an App! Yes, an App that will allow you to search for local companies and events very quickly. More to be revealed very soon, but I’m very excited to be working with Matt again from LS25 WebDesign who is great at understanding what The Main Deal concept is all about, as he’s been with me right from the beginning. Talking of Apps – did you know?
BorrowBox which is part of the library, is an App you can download books and audio books for, for free which are great for kids and listening in the car on a long journey – handy for October half term!
Leeds Bins is also a great App for adding your weekly bin collections. Put in your address and then it adds all the dates, when your bins are to be collected on your road each week, giving you a reminder to put the right one out; it’s better than waiting to see which one your neighbour puts out first

I was so pleased to see this week that one of our very own lovely girls from Garforth, Lily Rowe was out in force in London this week as part of the Climate Change protest, she was on the national news wearing her homemade dress of plastic rubbish that she found on her street. What an impact she had and how fabulous to ask the very poignant question, ‘How long can we keep going for?’ Well done Lily

- Thursday 17th October Augustus Court 10.45-11.30am with Katherine from Funky Jives
- This is our toddler and pre-schooler movement to music class. The sessions are action packed and full of fun! Classes are suitable for both boys and girls aged from 12 months (walkers) to 4 years old. These sessions provide little ones with the opportunity to release all of their pent up energy, dance, sing, stamp, jump, stretch, balance, play, imagine and so much more all in a safe environment. Got another baby? You are very welcome to bring them along to class and of course wear them in a sling or carrier whilst you join in the Funky Jives session with your child! This session includes parachute fun, bubbles and stickers. The children will also enjoy singing songs and listening to stories in the company of the resident of the Care Home. There will be lots of opportunity for children to interact with them. We will also have an art and craft activity if your child wishes to partake. Tinies Halloween Session at Garforth Methodist Church
Monday 21st October 9.30 – 10am With Katherine at Funky Jives All our usual movement to music using props but with a Halloween theme. Fancy dress is encouraged but please bear in mind the children will be moving around the room near others and going down onto the floor. Siblings younger than 12 months are free. Older siblings can join in for half price or watch for free.
