It’s back and beware we aim to scare! The ever popular Spooky Scarecrow Trial takes visitors through the haunted woods of Lotherton and promises to be frightening fun for everyone. Spot the scarecrows as you tiptoe around the estate, just make sure you don’t wake them up! Look out for spooky spiders, ghoulish ghosts and wicked witches, hidden all over the house and grounds of Lotherton. Visit ‘Skeletown’ to see the scary side of the Wild West and get involved with creepy craft activities every day of the holidays. Dressing up encouraged for all of the family. Don’t forget to say ‘boo’ to the animals at Wildlife World and see if you can spot them munching on a famous Halloween treat, pumpkin! The Stables Café will be open until 5pm and serving treats to keep your little ones fuelled throughout the day. Last entry to the estate is 5.30pm
Saturday 26th 7.30pm at The Welfare Hall – Garforth in Bloom, Brass Band Concert with Garforth Brass – Tickets available at SPT Uniform shop £5 – it’s really a good night out – enjoy local and help raise some great funds for our lovely volunteer group
Monday 28th October – 1st November 11am -12.30pm at Few Gifts Half Term Halloween Craft Club with Penny from Saint Roberts Arts. Come and join Penny for a fun and friendly creative session at FEW Gifts this half term where you’ll be making a variety of Halloween themed crafts including these cute little ghost t-lights. While the young ones are playing in the Art Hub, the older generation can relax and have a cuppa in the Gift Shop if preferred. Come along during the half term holidays to sample lots of different activities. You will then have an opportunity to have your say and design your own projects that you would like in your community. You can even meet your local councillors!

Let your children get their spook on this Halloween on our fun filled, activity filled half term workshop. Let them get funky and gunky making Halloween slime, scare their friends with wooden 3D spider mobiles, decorate magic spell books with room to hide all their secrets in the hidden void inside and create wooden wand pencils.

Nothing new in planning this week, but hearing on the grapevine the new proposed business taking over the old Reed Rains premises will just be a bar and not a coffee shop!
Also – Looks like there are 2 potential new owners for Neil’s Greengrocers and the old Shed premises have been painted, I suspect we will have to watch this space – are we going to see a great new eatery?
We need between 6-7 places to eat and drink, locally, this then gives us choice to remain in our hometown, it’s cheaper than the city and you can walk home – let Garforth be a place you want to be and the night time vibe, will bring day time footfall
