Did any of you play April Fools?
There are no fools in our house, so this could not be achieved, everybody is waiting for something to happen, much more so, with everyone being home! I can’t escape anyone for long, so sorting something out is near on impossible, in fact, it feels like the time my children were toddlers, I can’t even go the loo in peace without one of them shouting my name, including the husband! Now we’re lucky to have a fairly big house, where you can escape; well push kids into a room and shut the door for a little while! But at the minute, they are wanting me more and more; I keep saying to them, ‘hey, you’re in my space remember, normally you are at school in work and the house is my office’. It’s taking a while for all to adjust and we’re only two weeks in. Even though we are only two weeks in on, lockdown there are still plenty of people out there who still don’t get it, and as mentioned on my weekly Vlog this week (whilst we can’t do podcasts) https://www.facebook.com/themaindeal/videos/1104913059841891/ People are still asking what does, ‘social distancing’ actually mean, I feel if you are still asking the question then you are wondering if it can fit in with you. It’s not there to fit in with you, it’s a case of, If they don’t live with you, don’t visit them and keep 2 metres away. I’m still seeing small groups of people hanging around with each other, and no, you’re not all brothers! I’m worried people are becoming complacent, which was always the danger of lockdown, people actually sticking to it – let’s hope it sticks soon. It does make me laugh though, people commenting quite a lot, that they are seeing lots of people out walking and with dogs! That will be because we’re all at home, so we have to walk our dogs so there are more people out walking with their dogs!!

Lots of people out last night at 8 pm, clapping and cheering again, we brought out the drums to help the huge round of applause for our NHS and keyworkers, I also think we need to clap our children, they are our little heroes in a way, they are living a life that is so very strange, as adults we are probably dealing with it completely different to them, so next Thursday, we should just go out, clap and cheer all of our NHS, keyworkers, supermarkets, shops, bin men and children, even if they won’t leave us to have a peaceful wee!
I am sharing as much as possible, which is the only thing I can do at the minute, general office work has paused for a while, as they’re nothing much else I can do to progress things or take on new projects, especially not progress with the likes of, The Repair Cafe, but we will all get there, back to our normal. It was nice to read Garforth District Lions delivering hampers of Easter Eggs and chocolate to this week that people had voted who deserved one, and some well-deserved people received theirs.
I love our road, it has really come together and as each day passes, there is new and different support – Look at Rainbow Lyn, she’s getting all over the place on YappApp, Leeds-List, BBC online news and next Wednesday, talking with a well known morning programme – I will share
I saw on Twitter this week, a road in the UK who come out every morning at 11 am, keeping within the boundaries of social distancing, they dance together, but apart! Someone puts out a huge speaker and they all come out and dance – fabulous! We will never do anything like this ordinarily, but it’s not ordinary times, and we can all do things together, differently Be kind to people, it’s the one thing you can definitely be good at.
