Another week of lockdown over, we do get to Friday’s really quickly, people say it’s because we’re more relaxed, not doing as much, having more time on our hands!
Not in this house! I hear it a lot of the time on radio, TV and social media where they’re asking people what they have been doing during lockdown with all this time on their hands… ! I would love to have time, I’m busier now than ever before, as two of us are working from home, sharing my office, sharing the chores and the childcare, we haven’t been doing ‘half-term’ this week as that makes it worse, there needs to be a structure or nothing gets done and the, Thomboys would be attached to the Deathbox, I mean Xbox and the strangers on TikTok if we let them relax too much. So we have to keep a structure in place, I see doing an hour every day of school work, might make up for the time they are missing, on average, our children probably do about 5 and half hours of classwork, so an hour a day, every day is not a lot. So we continue and hope we’re doing the right thing, between now and September, should they go back then.
So BoJo announces new plans, over the next few months, for businesses opening, such as non-essential retail, dentists, and all being well, in July, the likes of salons, barbers, beauticians, and businesses where it’s more ‘hands-on’. I feel this announcement was a really important one, one people really need to listen to, as this may mean to some people, its some kind of normal coming back, but it’s not! Meet 6 other people outside your home, outside only. If people don’t stick to this, we will see another spike and nobody will be getting their hair cut in July, the height of infection is still very high and in some places in the UK, scientists suspect we are on if not very close to 1 one on the R scale, if this changes or grows, they will delay and we will be shutting the front door on long hair for much longer and businesses will not open. So it is up to us, to be sensible adults in order for things to happen. It’s not about us, it’s about everyone, our decisions we make need to be for us all, including businesses opening, as we will all benefit. This is my take on it this week and how we can all need to be, ‘sensible adults’.

Something different this week. My eldest Thomboy is the bass player for Sticks and Stones, but he also is a very good pianist (I can say this, I’m his mum) He was invited to do his first-ever live performance last Sunday with, The Lockdown Venue 2020, these are live gigs which are played every couple of weeks. It has been really good and lots of really great local musicians playing live on Facebook.
