Well done to Debbie Todd from Angels and Butterflies and the Christmas Committee Team for putting on this event.
I have asked the team about safety and organisation and they have had risk assessments completed before they were given the green light. Here is the information they have shared on their page to put people’s minds at rest:
Just to reassure people with regards to the weekends market
We have a licence from LCC after submitting a full risk assessment including a Covid risk assessment
Under tier 3 outdoor markets are able to run,
We have in place more than we are required to do for the event

All stallholders have been given full covid guidance
Stalls are socially distanced for the stall holder’s safety & yours
We ask :
leave your car at home where possible with car parking reduced over the weekend
Please follow the one-way system
Maintain social distancing
Please wear a face mask if you can (although not mandatory as outdoors)
Please keep safe
We expect peak times to be 11-1pm
Most of all please shop local and not only the market please visit the Main Street shops and businesses too – Remember CLO is open again with Quirky Ales in attendance selling some fab Christmas sets.
Is it Free?
What do you determine as free? Free time, Free cost, Free knowledge, Free service – I do lots of free things, as I understand companies and I understand how much help is needed when setting up a business, how best to market it, and how to touch base with other businesses and how to engage our community. The platform I have created has allowed me to do that, and my love and passion for people, business, and local, is the best reward for me. However, as this is a business, not everything can be free, but we do make it affordable marketing to help everyone be seen.
I have now built quite an influential platform, a place people use to advertise and find what they need. In January, The Main Deal will be 7 years old. I have learned a lot over this time, and every day, is still a school day, which means I can pass that information on to the businesses and community and keep making them connections – someone recently said to me, ‘if we didn’t have The Main Deal, how would we know?’ – This means it’s working, you are looking, and more importantly using what we share. – keep using local first. Planning
Not a huge amount of new applications this week, not relevant ones anyway, just tweaks to Wetherspoons rear end…I mean Bigger Beer Garden!
Here’s everything crossed for next week, 16th December, to see if we will drop into Tier 2, but I’m not hopeful, as mentioned in the YEP, a lot of areas in Leeds have doubled, if not tripled in cases over the past week; luckily not us.
