Bye, bye Trump, off you go. I would like to say it’s been nice knowing you, but I think most of the sensible people in the world will agree, it’s been nothing but a cringe-fest of emotions. You’ve been a President that has woken the world up to questions like, ‘What, did he really say that?’ He will certainly be a President who will have his own very thick history book on how not to be a President, it may be called, ‘President for Dummies!’
Thankfully his time is up and Biden has stepped in. I liked listening to his inspirational inauguration speech, with words such as Renewal and resolve, bringing people together, we are all created equal and, treat each other with dignity and respect. Not only would Trump never have said any of this (well, not out of his own mouth) I suspect he wouldn’t be able to spell or read them off an auto queue!
So, an era is over and hopefully, never to be repeated – good things happen to bad people too… Let’s watch and see what happens to the man now living in a flat above a golf course. You’re not Orange, you’re in peach!
Weak, or Week 3
I hope all who are still at home juggling kids and work, are doing ok? Another week is done, and another week of not actually knowing when the kids will be back in school as we still mutter FFS under our breath. I’m currently sharing an area in the house with my youngest Thomboy, which means I can also listen to all that is being taught, and I have to say, I have no idea how Teachers do it, I have no idea why anyone would want to be a teacher! They all need huge hugs, we all need to shout their praises and respect everything they do. I can honestly say I would rather work in prison than teach kids. I also think I would be sacked in a week, ‘No Mrs. Thom, you cannot say that to a child, no that’s not the best attitude to continue working with children, no that is definitely not a good suggestion and please, stop sniggering at every innuendo you hear’……… Hats off Teachers, you’re doing an amazing job. Please get them next in line for the Vaccine so they can go into school feeling confident and safe. Out for a walk with a Station House, Takeout
Last Saturday my family and I tried Station House Café’s new pick up, and walk takeaway offering. It came with a great choice of many things, paninis, a hot flask (you can choose) or have a choice of a cold drink should you prefer, there was also Italian desserts and snacks along with napkins and wipes to keep you clean. Luigi’s lunch was amazing, all Italian inspired delicious items in your pack up. My pannini came wrapped in foil so I could eat it like a burrito. Our parents always taught us to share, and as adults, we sometimes forget to do it. So please do the small things that can make the big difference such as sharing where you have been, sharing the love of a small business, giving them a review, telling your friends and family about where you bought it, whatever it is. With great sadness
This week has been filled with sadness as I’ve heard of 3 people who have passed away; not Covid related. These times are so hard for families and also hard for friends as they cannot show their love or how they want to support their friends and family in such devastating times. Covid certainly makes things much harder in many ways. Many things are delayed due to the current situation too, it’s so sad to hear your friend’s tears and their heartbreak from losing a loved one. It was extremely sad to hear about the sudden death of the Science Teacher, Mr. Wragg this week, he was such a great teacher and I know my eldest and many children in Garforth Academy will be upset by this loss.
