Love

What is there to love, what is there to like to be fair?  a series of binge-watching, drinking, eating, exercising, relaxing (haha, what is that?)   It’s really hard to see what’s to love at the minute isn’t it?   it’s certainly not the weather, especially as there is more snow predicted in the next few days, quite had enough of the white stuff!  So to create happier times, will you be making more time for Valentine’s this year?   With it being on a weekend, is it going to make you do more than you would normally because we need to have fun with the small things?  Do we feel we need to make more of an effort for the one that we love should they be living, breathing, and sharing every god damn day with you, or for those unenviable couples who are having to spend time apart?  Last week on our blog, I put up a list of great things that our local businesses are doing for love:

VLOG

I had 12 minutes worth of things to say on this week’s Vlog, from the vaccine to Barclay’s bank,  food problems, and ideas on how we can stop wasting food – it’s kind of a big deal, hear what I had to say https://www.instagram.com/tv/CK1KZYbHN3l/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Nice to have spoken to Dan from Incredible Edible Garforth this week, their project is moving forward nicely, even though it’s been more difficult to do their full plans in 2020, they have some great plans for 2021.  They are in need of a volunteer to help with their social media pages, can you help?  Here is their link to find out all the details you will need. https://www.facebook.com/ediblegarforth/posts/439900864098263

Remote Learning wobble

Ok, let’s be honest, it’s not going so easy, is it?  I certainly don’t have a young child who is desperate and ready to learn every day; because that would be too easy.    The Teachers are brilliant and doing a great job, but I don’t feel we as parents, or maybe it’s just me, I don’t feel I’m doing the best I can, especially when you hear and read other social media pages from other parents, showing and telling you how their children are just getting on with it!  The wobble is me; and not because I’m carrying last year’s extra pounds, but questioning my parenting and whether I should be one!  I wanted 3 children, now I have 2, I want 1!….  I know, it’s difficult to read honesty, but I’m not a parent up puts my children up on social media very often as I can’t always say that every day it’s brilliant, or they’re ace, or they’re so funny, and they’re so marvellous, because that’s not life.  So rather than being too honest (bad parenting) I don’t share that many family moments!  If we do get them, I keep them in a little treasure box in my head, because they do happen, but I can remember them.  Some people say you should share as much as possible on social media as your children will then have a library of information when they too are adults; I say, if they too decide to have kids, they can put their own up!  Good luck out there, we may have a few more weeks/months left to go.

Anyway, it will soon be half term and you will hear the cheers from kids, parents, and teachers across the whole nation

Until next week …………..
