It has been reported today, the over 40’s are next in line for the jab, woohoo, here I come. I never thought I would ever be so excited about being in my 40’s. They have said, ‘Priority based on jobs would be “more complex” and could slow down the programme” So this is why they are sticking with the age group method of doing things as it works.
Great news from Bojo, and great news for parents, with the first step being back to school on the 8th March. I am sure I have written this in another blog not so long ago. When children return through those school gates and those parents turn around and walk back out, there will be cheers all across town, you will hear it in the clouds as the sound moves through the air; it will be loud for all to hear. For any parent working full time at home and managing remote learning, you can relate, it has been the hardest time ever in history, and no-one, but no-one will ever want to repeat this ever again, so please everyone, keep doing what you’re doing, only go out when you need to until the next step says different, as you really don’t want to the next step to be a whole load of angry parents.
To everyone’s excitement, the initial date we’re mostly looking forward to is the 12th of April, when retail will be able to open their doors again, along with salons of hair and beauty. My hair is really awful this time, it’s so grey, but I expect it’s probably the reason above! This is what I had to say on this week’s vlog

Facebook has been causing me no ends of problems over the past week. As soon as they make a back end change the front end (the bit we all see and use) messes up! Facebook announced some years back, how they wanted to separate personal and business pages, so they built a Business Suite, some of you may use it. There are now two separate versions, minus instructions; helpful! Since making these changes, it has left lots of bugs, one bug being a lack of notifications from any business page I follow; basically, all my members. So, over the course of every day since last Thursday, I have had to trawl through each member to see if they have posted anything new, in order, I can share it. After 9 maybe 10, ‘report an issue’ into Facebook. I am still waiting to either be guided as to where notifications have gone or the bug to be fixed. Facebook causes me no ends of problems and always has, thank goodness for Twitter and Instagram, maybe these are starting to be the better platforms to use going forward!

All these are up for either lease or sale. It would be good to see these occupied in the not too distant future. What would you like to see, something you feel we don’t have in Garforth already?
Pride and Produce would be good as a deli/cheese/fishmonger, we don’t have one of those. I know we have the fish van that comes by, but he could supply; as long as he smiles!
TUI – A Community Hub for young people or allow it to be a pop-up for new businesses, so it changes every 3 months. It would give new businesses an idea of whether they could work on a high street.
Post Office Ninelands. I don’t know why we couldn’t ‘mingle business’ here. Put a post office back in with something else, a local deli would work here too, bread, cheeses, fresh produce, there’s a whole load of houses about now.
