Many kids in Garforth find themselves back at home, again! Remote learning, staring at Zoom, and hating that smiley little green character that’s synonymous with DoJo; that might just be me! Teachers now have remote learning down to fine art, and to be fair, they’re pretty amazing at it. However, like us, they find their week turned upside down! There are bubbles bursting all over the place and this is why we’re seeing a rise in cases, locally and in Leeds, it’s risen from last week due to outbreaks in two prison settings, Many parents are using the self-test kits at home, there’s nothing nicer than putting a stick down your child’s throat and watching them gag, or shoving it up to their nose to see their faces squirm as though they’ve inhaled pepper. A lot of tests have proved helpful in track and trace cases, but this is why bubbles burst, which I know is a good thing, but also, I think we’ve truly all had enough.
Today is World Sleep Day
For some of you, with less rush for travel added to your day, are you getting more sleep, or are you stretching out those extra hours as much as possible, knowing you can roll out of bed, change your top, and go straight into a conference call? Or, are you enjoying being Furloughed and finding the peace comforting, having Nanna Naps, or are you awake thinking of new projects you can do to help change things?
Reservations
Many restaurants and cafés are opening their reservation books. If they are able to offer outside service, some will open up on or after the 12th of April, such as The Gaping Goose and Jigger and Jar, follow their pages and keep your eyes peeled. Thereafter, it will be the 17th of May for all the others; let’s get to that date safely so they can open. I just want to get all ‘dolled up,’ with somewhere to go! However, I think I will wait until I’ve at least had my first jab before I rush out. I just want a date night with the husband or a quiet drink with friends; you know, other people that you’ve only seen on a screen. I need to see and smell other people…!

There have been details on the Garforth News and Events page this week about people creating a yarn bombing across Garforth. I read, ‘The Methodist Church Minister will have them. On Sunday, it’s World Down Syndrome Day, if you don’t already, wear odd socks to celebrate. Odd socks? Is because the different chromosome looks like a sock! little fact sharing.
Jehovah Witness letters – over lockdown, has anyone received a handwritten, hand-delivered letter? Our road has had lots, I had mine delivered today, I was almost feeling left out!

After 5 weeks, Facebook has decided to give me back notifications…. however, at 17.40pm Instagram has gone down! Head needing a wall to bang against!
