Please let us get to the 17th of May, safely. It’s the day when more can open, inside! Warmer, longer, later…that’s what she said! All jokes aside, we need, and hospitality needs to have more people in their businesses spending money. I’ve seen so many people out having a good time, and most of them meet-ups have been civilized, people sitting having a natter with friends and family they have needed to see. How many of you have been out enjoying what’s on our doorstep, from a cup of coffee to a sit-down meal, or just meeting friends for a pint, or have you bought something new to wear to go out in? The best way to do all of this, and still feel you’re not traveling too far is to stay local. I know this isn’t a necessity now, but it would be great to spend your money locally on the independents that need your love and support.
From the 17th of May, many more of our hospitality companies will be back open, from La Bella Vita to The Podger…. Stay civilized people
On your travels around Garforth, if you’re walking down, The Lines, stop at the new information board that has been installed at the, Bee and Butterfly garden. The board provides help in identifying bees and butterflies that might be seen on this specially designed display – thanks Garforth in Bloom.

This weekend there is a Bank Holiday May Market behind Barclays Bank – enjoy and spend some money at the local businesses on your way too ( drinking and eating ones)
Planning
Nice to see the front of Lasercharge’s old premises has been updated with. new windows and doorway, and how quickly they are now moving with the restaurant. However, I was disappointed to see they have made the space smaller again by adding a stud wall!! So, this may not be as big as I’d hoped unless they move upstairs! We’ll wait and see – more to stop at and eat.
The saddest of days
My lovely little friend of 91, who I have been looking after, buying his favourite snacks, along with his weekly shopping and newspapers, and spending time with him chatting about something and nothing, listening to his amazing stories at his back door whilst keeping clear for him to feel safe, he sadly passed away yesterday in a community care home with no family able to be with him at his last breath, how I have cried for him being stuck in at 91 for a whole year to have such a short ending of his wonderful life – Sending you some squeezes. RIP Trevor (aka. Farmer Giles) We will miss you so very much.
