What’s with the winter weather, hail, rain, freezing temperatures, and then sun, please make your mind up! We’re still having work done in our garden (phase 2) the poor builders have been in and out, all week long trying to get as much done as possible before it the weather turns, again! ‘Never cast a clout till May is out,’ was something my Nan would always say and, never to wear my blue and white chequered summer dress for school until June had arrived, I still live by this; not that I still have the dress, but May is so unpredictable…. I can’t abide by the cold weather, am I to wear a woolly hat and scarf or cap and sunglasses?

17th May
There has been a little bit of confusion for openings for the 17th of May, especially for Indoor adult exercise classes. What does it fully mean, how many people can attend, and will venues re-open? For some of our classes, they can start doing live classes again, but the issue is the venues that host these classes. Some venues have decided to review activities after June, which causes a right pain in the butt for many of our local activities/companies. They want to run, but the venues are only able to walk – here’s hoping that venues can change more quickly as we are seeing such good positives changes sooner.

Planning
Barclays Bank ATM
I see there is a planning application to remove the current ATM at Barclays Bank, it makes sense, as they will no longer be there after today! A steel plate (for now) will be installed instead. So, one less ATM, but what will take over these premises ……. Mmmm I wonder… or do I already know?
A change in rumour!
Last week I was lead to believe that Pride and Produces old premises was to be turned into a Gourmet Burger bar, there have been new rumours this week about a wood fire dine pizza taking it on instead… yes, I know, we already have a great one of those! So we will see which rumour happens first…
Sainsbury’s in Colton
Some confusion on social media as to whether Sainsbury’s is open in Colton whilst it’s adding its extending premises to add Argos into the mix – it is. They are to keep the supermarket open whilst the works are going ahead, it makes so much more sense to have a pick-up Argos service in a supermarket like they do at the Whiterose. But now it will bring the question, what will go in when Argos leaves? There have been many rumours over the past 18 months, one being Dunelm’s arrival, but B&M took over 3 of the existing premises, so who knows what’s to come and would one building be big enough for a Dunelms?
We’re looking forward to dinner at, The Station House Cafe tonight, I’m just hoping the hail, rain, snow, and whatever else it’s brought this week, stays away – ITS MAY FOR GOD SAKE!
