Has it been a week already?
Since my getaway, another fabulous weekend spending time with my oldest friends, and I survived another year and, I’m still alive after eating copious amounts of crisps, and I mean copious amounts. Why is it when someone puts something in a bowl on a table, you can’t walk past it? Everyone brings snacks to, ‘the women have gone away,’ weekend; I’m starting to think we could actually open a shop at the end of the drive of the cottage we stay, I also loved the fact we had a fridge just for alcohol… My liver survived too!
Since being back, it’s been a really busy week, I find the whole working full time, sorting children out and everything that school brings, quite tiring, and as an older parent of younger children, I find I’m absolutely exhausted by Thursday, I can’t keep my eyes open. I have also found it difficult more so, as I haven’t been doing as much exercise as I normally would. I think this has a huge impact on our overall health as we get older and closer to that Meno place… yes, 47 and Peri-menopausal – it’s a thing! I’ve heard a fair few people talk about wanting a local menopause café, I think it would be a great idea, a room to shout really loud in and hate everything that’s in it… then we can sit down, be calm, eat cake and drink coffee, talking about the many symptoms that are part of this reduced hormone. Since being on HRT, I feel I have been an advocate to all my friends, if you’re not right, research yourself well. We also need to get other people on board, even the people we live with, to talk openly about it. This is something I read in an article, and it’s not to be sexist by any means, but it’s quite right, if men had their testicles removed, they wouldn’t leave the hospital without a testosterone supplement! True Fact.
Anyway, digress from testicles and hormones and onto Accounts, something that equally drains and frustrates me…. I’m normally so organised, but after the past 18 months with some members paying, some not able to, and people catching up, it’s proven to be quite taxing…see what I did there! I’m just making sure everything tally’s up in order I can send it off to the lovely Kate at Business Works… Many businesses were lucky to receive a grant, this grant was definitely helpful to keep my business and a few others riding the wave and not sinking in the sand. So, I’m very grateful for the government’s support. One more check of a long spreadsheet and I’m done; then I may drink Gin early!

OPEN EVENING at Garforth Academy next week
Snots and sneezes are in abundance in schools, you know, the normal snotty September when kids return to school and bring lots of germs home… yes, these things still exist and the house is full of non-Covid related symptoms, thankfully.
Quite a few of our local business owners have really suffered from Covid, even after 2 jabs, so please, still be cautious as we head towards the winter months. I’m still masking up in busy areas.

This time next week, my Mother-in-law will be here, she’s moving from North Wales – 5 doors away from us, did I tell you it’s 5 doors away, did I mention 5 doors! I only have myself to blame, if you find me rocking in a local pub forwards and backwards over the next few weeks, take it as a sign it’s not going well.
