I really love the start of autumn months, the feeling of warmth and being cosy, the obvious things like soft blankets snuggled up on the sofa with a big bowl of stew, are all fabulous, but I love how my drink habits change, heavier red wines, when the port gets poured, to help the baked Camembert, roasted Garlic and big chunky bread to wash it down. Watching the TV programmes you know will take you to Christmas, and then tubs of chocolates you buy, knowing they won’t be saved until Christmas week. Waiting in anticipation for the release of Christmas food menus, seeing winter flavours introduced in our favourite coffee shops, and seeing who has autumn wreaths on their door… yes it’s a thing, and a lovely one it is too, giving your house that Hygge (Hoo-gah) moment. My wreath is being created as we speak, by the wonderful ladies at The Flowerhouse Garforth, an artificial beauty I can use year on year.
Meaning of Hygge – a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being – as created by the Danes!

Planning
- Yorkshire Water will be coming back to commence work on Fairburn Drive – when they initially started work a few months ago to replace the water pipe, they came across some engineering difficulties, so had to go back to the drawing board and re-design their method – so here’s to a few more weeks of disruption; let’s hope that mini has moved out of the way.
- Works on Selby Road are also due to be completed by November

Live Theatre
We’re off to the Theatre in York tomorrow, I can not wait.. We’re going to see, The Play that goes wrong show… my belly needs a laugh after this week of moving the Mother in Law up from North Wales to 5 doors away; I’m sure there is a Les Dawson joke in there somewhere!!
