Schools out for Christmas, and everyone is so tired, every term the kids are pooped, and at this time, the parent, and I say parent… the Mum’s are pooped too. Running a full-time business along with a busy house, kids, school, and all the emails you receive to ‘DO STUFF’ and then, ‘Just chuck Christmas at us!‘ Don’t go all holy on me, I’m a Catholic, not a practicing one, but still one, one who had to endure sitting for what seemed like hours, every week in a cold church next to old people smelling of mothballs; it may have only been my church! But still, I did it and prayed and sang hymns and ate bread and all that holy stuff, and I still believe, Jesus (should he have existed) was a genuinely good guy just trying to help people make good decisions, be kind and help others, he wasn’t a bad dude, so when we celebrate Christmas, Easter and all those Jesus days, it may be about a being a good person, sharing, caring, loving and being in the moment of enjoying a good thing. So without us realising it, it’s kind of rubbed off on us really; I’ve even fed the 5,000…. what seems like every day, why do boys eat so much?! So tonight, get your glass charged and look forward to his last week, the kind of best bit about Christmas, the lead-up, the feeling.

‘How many are you cooking for?’
No one ever asks parents, what would you like for Christmas? Add that into your questions, and I bet the answer would be, ‘I’d like to hide in a corner with a massive box of chocolates and a larger G&T please’ Can someone else please feed me?!

Being local
As we venture into unknown territory again; well I say unknown, it’s because we have no idea what BoJo is going to say or do next. When every other country is doing something different to us scenario, we’re left asking, again, what is best to do; even the Queen is unsure! I think we’re all pretty much intelligent enough to listen to the scientists, go cautiously, get your booster, and keep at arm’s length. Being local is also a great thing, more so after, and generally, after Christmas, as ALL local businesses face that hard January, the worst month for many, even sales is hard work, so please stay local, be local, and support the local businesses that we really want to stay on and around our high street. Make a new years resolution to spend some of your money locally, once every week is a great start.
Planning
As mentioned in last week’s Blog and this week’s Vlog, a planning application has gone in to ‘give an open Proposed rear single-story extension to existing coffee shop, roasting house, and cafe. Including access to and seated area on the roof for outdoor dining for cafe’ have you guessed already? It’s for CLO yippee… I truly hope this goes through and when it does, they are able to create an even bigger, more wonderful space!
