JANUARY…..
….counting every day until it’s gone; can you tell I’m not a fan! Executing dry January, as I do every year, can be more difficult as the month goes on. The first week in, your body is grateful has it’s had enough over Christmas and New Year, phew shouts your body, hurrah screams your liver and thank god, whispers your gut, but by the second week; more so at the weekends, it’s quite a wrench, I have lots of willpower or could it be stubbiness, I’ve not quite worked it out yet! Also, I’m back on a keto diet, which is also good for me. Carbs gone, let’s burn that body fat as my hips these days walk on their own, so I need a good body boost. I’ll be like a different person at the end of the month, and can only hope the motivation I lack in January returns too,… of course it will, I can drink gin again!

Camera Watch
The local police have been out in force this week, with their speed cameras along our busier roads. There are only a few roads on our estate that are not 20, but people don’t seem to read or bother, and if it’s not 20 miles an hour it’s traffic lights and many cones that are stopping speeding anyway…. How many road works are there? So much for the ones on Selby Road only being 12 weeks, this seems to be going on forever, and it certainly causes traffic issues during peak hours. I know on Fairburn Drive, Yorkshire Water have had to go back and forth to the drawing board as their plans haven’t been working too well with regards to the new water pipes they’re installing, let’s hope they have it sorted soon because you also find people speeding just to get through the traffic work signals!
Tradespeople
Over the past 6 months or so, I have been creating posts about our local tradespeople, what to look out for, and how to be patient if you want the good ones. A lot of good tradespeople are booked months in advance and this is a good thing! It means they’re sort after because word of mouth has got them there.
