No, not the moaning type, the one that goes in the glass type! I officially call my time on Dry January this Saturday. I’m out with friends on Main Street, not ‘Mainy’ this makes me cringe… sounds like scouse terminology… ‘Maaainneeee’ yak! Anyway, It would be rude of me not to attend said night out, visiting Jiggar and Jar and not drink a cocktail or 3… right?. Rude. So I officially declare myself… drinking!
We quickly find ourselves on Friday again. I hope you have all had a great week?. The weather has been typical of January, colder with a cool breeze from the west; I sound like a weather gal! At least the forecast for the next week says dry, which is needs to stay so i can prove to my lovely insurance company that our leak is an escape of water in our house and not a flat roof problem – See January has been pretty crap

Garforth Community FEASTIVAL
We held our first planning meeting last night, which was really productive, it was so nice to be excited about something, we are sure, will go ahead this year. Continuing the History of Garforth – Moving with the times to keep our history alive
This week we saw a post on Facebook from Garforth Historical Society to say, ‘the group has been disbanded due to the lack of interest shown by the townspeople‘ sad! However, they’ve used Facebook for the first time since October 2018 to say it was no longer going to be. Does anyone else know this was a thing or still going on? I suspect a new generation of people would have been interested if they knew more about it? This group has been going since the 70’s and I suspect the people in the group are of a similar age. If we need a new generation to continue looking into the history of Garforth, and keeping it alive for our community, as it’s certainly not something they teach in our schools, then maybe it has legs to continue moving forward. Age shows
As I we all get older our skin loses collagen and elasticity and if like me, your skin can starts to look like a leather sofa, then perhaps it’s about to start thinking about yourself a bit more, so about 2 years ago I started to do just that, coming up to the beautiful age of 48 this year, it’s something I feel is needed and it’s become a very strict skin routine, which has definitely paid off. I see Jo Baker from Semi-Permanent Makeup and have been with Jo for years, her facials are amazing and I know my skin loves me for it now and will do later on in life. The question I asked myself was, am I ready to go down the aesthetic route and start to look at tweaking the bit’s I really don’t like, mainly my 11’s, you know the ones in the middle of your eyebrows that look like you’re in a permanent mood; maybe it’s just me, or the fact that my Mother in Law moved so close to us in September, and that no amount of good cream is going to magic the WTF lines away! Anyway, I went for an appointment with the lovely, Maria at Beholdme Aesthetics, she is wonderful and very knowledgeable about everything, which is the confidence you need if you’re looking to make changes. Like most, if not all of our local aesthetics clinics here in Garforth, they have a nursing background, which is what you really need to look at when having someone to make changes to your face. After my initial consultation, I decided to go away from the appointment, chat with friends, and hubby, and discuss. It is a commitment, but not a necessity to start treatment because you could have just one treatment and see, but should you decide to make it a quarterly spend, it can be expensive. If you’re going to do this, then you want it done properly in a clinic that is professional and certified. I haven’t done anything about it yet, as I have to justify it and commit. So sorry, you’ll just have to continue seeing my bad mood face for a while longer, yet.
