There is so much more to the place you chose to live, lots of local people who do wonderful things, by getting involved and making our area a nicer, greener, and safer place to live, and they all do it because, like many of us, they want to make it a good place to grow. Whether it’s Garforth in Bloom, Garforth Allotments, Garforth Greening Group, Incredible Edible Garforth, Garforth Wombles, Eco-Friendly Garforth, Garforth Feastival, Garforth Christmas Committee, Garforth Musical Society, St Mary’s Youth Theatre, Garforth Amateur Dramatics, Garforth knit and natter group(s) Garforth Art Clubs, Garforth Art Network, Garforth and District Lions, there are also lots that go on in the Welfare Hall, every week. There are so many more groups, and projects that are run by local people who are all volunteers. These groups always WANT, not just NEED more people. You can find out all about each group on social media, most of them have a page or two.
As you have read, we have so many lovely and local groups here in Garforth, like this one, Garforth Hedgehogs. They are here to help, and rescue injured hedgehogs as well as share great advice and knowledge on what to do, and how to feed them should you have one in your garden – Give them a follow https://www.facebook.com/garforthhedgehogs/

Valentine’s day
It’s around the corner, do you celebrate it with a card, a kiss, and a smile, or splash out….. and go for dinner and buy gifts? If you’re still wondering what to do, keep following my page, and see what I am sharing. From the usual, such as flowers, chocolates, candles, alcohol, aftershave, or perfume, to paying for your partner’s hair or face to have a pamper. For the past 25 years, we have, well I say we, I HAVE cooked Sirloin steak in a brandy and peppercorn sauce, (proper) homecooked chips, onion rings, veg, and a good wedge of chunky bread and butter… now it seems like an old fashioned meal from a Bernie’s Inn (should you remember them) but I change it up and add a twist or two to the menu each year. I love the fact it’s stayed the same for all this time, and back in the late 90’s it was a bloody expensive dinner. Now, we’re lucky enough to be in a place where a good steak is £15 each and not an eyebrow is raised. So enjoy what you do, and if you’re not in a relationship, how about just spreading the love with your friends or family members, and cook them a nice dinner instead… It doesn’t have to be about a partner, it’s just showing the love. I wonder If St Valentine was single?
I get asked a lot
