Well, I’m not one for being serious, and I don’t use my platform to talk politics, but it has been an interesting vote today for many parties…. with figures changing over the past few years, and all for the better in some areas ( in my opinion, because I am allowed to have one)
The country is getting greener and green is starting to get fashionable – It’s moving onwards and upwards slowly in some areas, but quite significantly in other parts of Leeds, the change of pace is happening….

I’m a believer in the bigger picture, the long-term goal, and a better environment to grow up, and grow old in… we need to encourage more of our younger generation to vote too, so we need a reason to attract our young people, they will make changes happen, and they vote for what they believe is the right thing for the future, be with it, see it, understand it. These are the people that will make our town a better place to live because they’re moving forward with forward-thinking attitudes. The changes are happening because, even if you just look at the projects and wonderful volunteers we have already who have made changes in and around Garforth, it’s most definitely greener, and we won’t be the only town this is happening in! Anyway, I must shush now, and crawl back into my ‘supporting local businesses, especially café’s’ hole before I get placed in, ‘you have an opinion how dare you’, jail!
New business?
The Sun…. as some kids call it, which is the newsagents on Main Street, in between The Cobblers and La Bella Vita, has changed hands, or changed what it’s going to offer unless it’s just having an upgrade? Well done to Nicola from Mr. Wilsons who took over, and moved lock stock and sweet barrel to The Good Food Store, she has been offering some splendid food choices. So far, she has made;
- Chicken Tikka Masala Currt with rice and Naan or JP
- Hot Chicken, apple sauce with Sage, and Onion Stuffing on a soft baguette
- Pulled Pork Ragu in a soft baguette, in a pot, or with a crusty roll or JP

Now that Tippl has left, sad not only for the staff, but it offered a huge selection of fabulous snack and drink options! It now leaves the unanswered question as to what will go there instead, it’s a huge space to fill, as it used to be two shops… let’s see what happens, and I will share when I know
Nice to see Barclay’s old premises have had some more movement inside recently, many people are wondering what’s going on, as it seems work starts, then it goes quiet again – please just know, there are big hoops to jump through, and the owners will be doing this cautiously – but it’s all very exciting.
