All of a sudden the time is here, and if you don’t know, where have you been? From 5 pm until 7 pm Garforth Lights Switch on, and the Christmas Market has been on from 11 am (market only today and tonight) Also here are the details of the times for Road closures and parking bays that have been coned since 6 am this morning.
My idea for parking would be to park at Garforth Train Station and walk down, it doesn’t take too long, and you can walk from the top down. This way you won’t miss ‘Goats in Christmas Jumpers’ who will be residing at Pease’s Car Park

Black Friday
As mentioned in our earlier posts, a lot of our local businesses can’t really compete with the so-called ‘savings’ of Black Friday that you receive from the chain stores. However, some are doing some small deals between now and Monday, so make sure you follow to keep updated with all the local deals in place

How crap… can be sorted
How many dogs do you reckon live in Garforth, would you say a fair few hundred, or a thousand? Many people gave homes to dogs during the lockdown, so we probably have a higher number now, than we did back in 2019.
The reason I mention this is, every week we see a Dog Poo groan on social media pages across Garforth! Yet it’s still a problem; as it was back in the 80’s when dogs were given the wrong type of food and their ordure was white…solid, but white! Now as much as dog poop isn’t a nice topic to be discussed, I feel there is a solution. Rather than moaning about the 1 or 2, 3 or 4 Dog excrements you may see out on your walk (so not hundreds or thousands, proving that most dog owners pick theirs up) how about writing to the council instead?
The idea is, If Leeds Council produce stickers for dog fouling to go up on lamposts, could they produce stickers for people’s black bins, of course, if you’re happy, and perhaps a dog owner already, the council could provide a sticker you put on your bin, saying “Dog poop bags accepted’ that way no more bins would need to be provided or extra pick-ups by the council, and as every road has different days for bins, there’s more chance there will be less on the floor. You could moan, ‘Not in my black bin’ NIMBB but it’s better than on the path. Just a thought
