We’re here, it’s arrived, the month where if you mention the word Christmas, no one can get annoyed! I do love it, I just hate all the organisation of it, we all know most of it is left to us lot, yes the females of the house, can I say that?. it’s when the questions come from others as though they are querying your organisation skills, that’s the bit I love the most. To get you in the festive mood, a lot of people have family traditions, one of ours is to watch something Christmassy, so last night, it was The Royle Family Christmas special from 1999. I’d highly recommend getting your kids to watch it, It takes them and you back to what 80’s, and 90’s Christmas’ was all about, the simple things, the easily pleased, and the little pleasures, sitting in front of the box watching Noel’s House Party or Only Fools and Horses whilst your Mum, Nan, and Aunty were in the kitchen washing up after cooking; I’m glad these times have changed! There is another Christmas special from 2008 too, where carrot crush doesn’t go down too well…. B A R B B E R A

If you haven’t already, now is the time to get your food ordered, Turkey and meats from Willow Park Farm or The Butchers. Veg from The Greengrocers (I print out a list for them) Dumouchel Breads, chocolates, Desserts, and party food, and Gin from The Gin shack, Refill & Go will have all the bits you need, shop online and set yourself up for a nice day by organising it locally.
By the way, Garforth Town FC is selling some ‘Merch’ this Saturday, great Christmas gifts for people who are fans
Helping others this Christmas
Please help support people who are facing hardship in South and East Leeds, this winter by donating at your local Tesco store between Thursday 1, and Saturday 3 December. Come and find our staff and volunteers at Tesco Seacroft, Batley, and Garforth.
Our Reach
I use Google Analytics and Met Performance Results to follow and track stats for our website and social media pages, it’s always a good read, the nerd in me likes it!
We have more women than men using our platforms between the ages of 25 and 64, however, it is equal numbers aged 18-24 which shows me, the next generation coming up is a little different in how they use tech to find what they need and want, and these are the people we all want to work with going forward, in order we can keep the next generation using local.
We have a good reach outside of Garforth too, South Milford, Sherburn, Castleford, Bramham, Altofts, Robin Hood, Selby, Pontefract, and Bradford – nosey and interested in what’s going on in Garforth are we?

- Sunday 11th December at 3.30 pm There will be a session with SEEDS, which is a creative dance and movement for children, this is being held at St Mary’s Church, it’s Christmas themed so they will be exploring the birth of Jesus and the Christmas story through creative movement, and just having fun dancing. Children of any age are welcome and it’s free of charge.
