“Do what you feel is right in your heart, because you’ll be criticised anyway”

There’s one thing I struggle to tolerate, toxic people.  People who decide it’s ok to try and change people’s opinion about people they fear (yeah, they do), those who they hate with no reason given, they’ve made a decision not to like them, they either feel threatened by them or don’t understand them. People HATE some celebs, why, they don’t even know them. Disliking people is one thing, but hating someone!

Trolls who dis, comment, or spread rumours… it’s a truly ugly trait, and it makes it clear that the trolls have a lot more going on in the background than we care to know about, trolling or bullying can be on, and offline.

If people come to you and talk nastily about someone you really don’t know, YOU NEED TO CALL THEM OUT and ask why, why they feel it’s necessary to put their opinions on to you, and why they are ‘hating’.  Why do they feel it’s the right way to bring another person down?  We should big people up.  I like to big up ALL women in business, especially those who are finding challenges to get their business to grow in the direction they want.

A woman should be two things, who and what she wants… without the remarks, the swift kicking, or the vile comments given by others.  If you don’t like someone, say nothing, it’s far more powerful. When you focus on the good, the good get better; and the trolls, how’s it working out for you?

Targets and Stats

I am always looking at ways to improve traffic to our social media platforms, and website. Trying to stand out from the crowd can be challenging, but we’re lucky that we are a little bit unique, and not selling a product that may be in a saturated market.  This month I wanted to target Facebook  – the wider ages of people using one platform and, where a lot of businesses will get engagement from for people to buy their products or services.  This is because Facebook has been around since 2004 and a lot of people remain.  I was 30, and 18 years on, I’m still using it.  So our stats show for this month (not quite over yet) are as follows…I know Facebook can be a PITA (pain in the arse) at times, but you can still use it comfortably to drive traffic to your product or service.  Instagram is great for visuals, Twitter is great for trolls ( I mean B2B) as is LinkedIn. If you’re not sure about using lots of social media pages, stick to your target market for now and then build as you go along.  Instagram and Tik Tok have our younger generation who you will need to tap into at some point soon…  you’ll get there.  Delegate it or learn it.

Nice to read

That LCC (after much backlash) has pulled the decision to make recreational car parks chargeable, for 2023/24 – A decision that was probably a good one long term.  Understandably, people were a little peed off with the initial decision, but at the end of the day LCC needs to make some money… can you come up with suggested ideas and forward them on?

My ideas would be:

  • Could LCC give more greenspaces to community projects to look after?
  • Whilst some people are looking for jobs, could they be volunteers for streets and parks?
  • Could 16-17-year-olds looking for a job be volunteers to gain some experience?
  • Could my idea of our general black bins having (permission granted) bagged dog poo accepted here, stickers on, so council litter bins have fewer pick-ups?

I’m just chucking a few ideas out there, but I believe if you going to say NO to something they have suggested, perhaps suggest a solution or help at the same time!

Planning

Garforth Neighbourhood Planning form has this week sent out an email in relation to LCC Planning to Remove Manston Lane /Barrowby Lane Site  EG2-37 from Green Belt

GNPF does not support the removal of land from the Green Belt for development and has submitted a letter regarding site EG2-37, objecting to Leeds City Council’s intention to remove the site from the green belt.
If you wish to make your own individual comments about the proposed loss of more green belt land, the planning department email address is sap@leeds.gov.uk . Your comments must be submitted by 5 pm on Friday.  ( I know this may be late in the day, but I would send your email anyway, should you oppose this idea)

Until next weekWhat’s better than a Friday?  A pay day Friday!  You made it, January is nearly done.
