Volunteer to do it

People’s attitude towards volunteering varies greatly, ranging from enthusiastic and passionate to hesitant or indifferent. Some individuals eagerly embrace the opportunity to make a positive impact and contribute to their communities, while others may need encouragement or a personal connection to fully embrace the idea of volunteering. Here in Garforth, we have so many opportunities to volunteer, whether it’s in a group, on your own, outside, inside, helping a lot, or just giving your time every now and again. It’s something that is really needed, gratefully appreciated and extremely rewarding.

Whether it’s your kid’s school fair or a project that involves helping our community to be a nicer place to live, time can mean so much and the results can be magical, to you too…. Volunteering can be great for the mind as well as the body and your soul will thank you

Message me if you can give that time Christine@themaindeal.co.uk and I can put you in touch with the opportunities that might be right for you.

GNPF (Garforth neighbourhood planning forum)

Whether you find yourself sitting on the fence, consider yourself an expert, or are still unsure about the whole situation, I urge you to take a proactive step before the upcoming referendum on 29th June. Don’t hesitate to approach the volunteers of the GNPF who will be available to answer your questions on Main Street outside the post office this Saturday, or at the Gala on Sunday. The decisions made in this referendum will have a direct impact on both you and the community you’ve chosen to call home. So, why not seize the opportunity to be part of the collective knowledge they can provide?

Have a look at the policy and what its aims and objectives are… don’t be a bystander, onlooker, or spectator, if someone wants to build, adapt, or change in Garforth, and you haven’t been part of the knowledge, you can’t then complain you were not considered. https://shorturl.at/isNOZ

Monday Moaning

For several weeks now, I’ve been creating a short video series called “Monday Moaning” which you can find on my YouTube page. The essence of Monday Moaning is to express our grievances while also offering solutions. It’s about acknowledging the frustrations we face but also finding ways to overcome them. After all, having a solution in mind enables us to move forward and focus on more positive aspects of life. So, if you’re up for a constructive moan, (all tongue in cheek) join me on Mondays on Instagram, it’s just for fun… I may do Crocs next!

Planning

Kippax Central Working Men’s Club on Back Lane has been disused since March this year, and it’s now the prospective site of new housing.  An application has been submitted to tear it down and make room for nine new houses.
