Wow! A massive thank you to all you wonderful people who braved the unpredictable British summer weather and showed up in droves to Feastival last Saturday. Your resilience and sensible clothing choices truly made a difference!

Feastival might not take actual tears, but it does demand a fair share of effort, frustration, and hard work from our dedicated team of organisers. Despite the elements throwing their worst at us, your enthusiasm and support kept us going.

We are thrilled to receive all the fantastic feedback on our Feastival socials, https://www.instagram.com/gcfeastival/ and we appreciate the suggestions from both familiar and new faces. Your input will help shape an even better event for next year.

Next Thursday, will be our WET washup meeting (don’t worry, it involves drinks, not tears!) It’s a wonderful opportunity for our volunteering team to gather and discuss the highlights of the day and start planning for an even more incredible Feastival next year.

As we look forward to next year’s event, there’s still a way you can lend a hand. Share your favourite Feastival moments on your social media platforms, spread the word, and keep the Feastival spirit alive all year round! 🎉🌞 #FeastivalGratitude #BritishSummerVibes #FeastivalFeedback #PlanningForNextYear #VolunteeringTeam #FeastivalMemories #WETWashupMeeting #FeastivalSpirit #ShareTheLove #CommunityAppreciation #garfeast

“The planning for 2024 is already underway. Can you help us put on this free event for the people of Leeds? We need around £4000 to put the event on……….Aside from the hundreds of volunteer hours it takes to organise the Garforth Feastival, we start each year at £0, so any help is hugely appreciated so we can put on this event for the community and support local independent businesses. This budget covers stall hire, local music acts, generator and table/bench hire, insurance, and marketing costs.”

GFest

(further details below)

The highly anticipated #SIG Summer in Garforth final event, GFest, is finally here! We know the British weather can be unpredictable,(shit)  but a waterproof poncho can easily assist you in the rain. So, don’t let the weather dampen your spirits; see you tomorrow! By the way, the colour black just washes me out!  My vibrant poncho will surely brighten up your day! See you there!   Where, where, where is……..

The Newmarket Inn – Still waiting on a response

Following my initial email (blog of 7th July) to the brewery and multiple follow-up emails, I’m still awaiting a response from the Stonegate Group. As I’m hoping to avoid the scenario of yet another pub with sports on big tellies that doesn’t cater to our preferences. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a positive outcome!

Paint Management needed

As mentioned in the blog of the 30th of June

To further add, this week, I came across a tweet from Metro News, highlighting an issue with bus access on Ninelands Lane. Determined as ever, I’ve sent another message to LCC, not one to give up easily. It reminds me of my persistence to secure marked bays outside the shops on Fairburn Drive, a feat that took me 17 months of unwavering effort. Rest assured, I’ll keep pushing for positive change, no matter how long it takes. 🚌🛣
